Biden’s DHS Denies Secret Service Protection for RFK Jr.

Get ready to witness the greatest disappearing act since Houdini – the sudden vanishing of Secret Service protection for a presidential candidate.

That’s right.

The ever-reliable, ever-vigilant Biden regime has decided that Robert F. Kennedy Jr., despite having a rather grim family history with presidential campaigns, doesn’t warrant any additional protection.

Is this a new magic trick or just another farcical failure on the part of the administration?

We are all aware of the tragic fate that befell Kennedy’s father and uncle while serving the nation.

You’d think, considering this heartbreaking history, the Secret Service would be bending over backward to ensure Kennedy Jr.’s safety.

But oh no, not in this tale of the unexpected!

Secretary Mayorkas had the audacity to declare, “‘I have determined that Secret Service protection for Robert F Kennedy Jr is not warranted at this time.'”

Not warranted?

What, pray tell, would make it warranted?

A 67-page report from a leading protection firm outlining “unique and well established security and safety risks” wasn’t enough?

This reeks of more than just administrative negligence.

Can anyone say ‘political machinations’?

Could this be a ploy by good ol’ Uncle Joe to hamstring his competition?

The timeline certainly raises some eyebrows—88 days and multiple follow-ups to respond to what usually takes a breezy fortnight.

Are we seeing a new low, even for this administration, where the Secret Service is used as a political tool, endangering a presidential candidate’s life?

What’s next?

Should we expect a disclaimer on future ballots stating, “Vote at your own risk”?

Shame on you, Biden.

Shame on you, DHS.

It’s one thing to play dirty politics. It’s another to play roulette with a man’s life.

But hey, maybe that’s just part of the show in this political circus.

The Blaze confirms that RFK Jr.’s request for protection was denied:

Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced that his request for Secret Service protection has been denied.

Kennedy’s father, Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, of New York was assassinated while running for the Democratic presidential nomination in 1968. The slain senator was the brother of President John F. Kennedy, who had been assassinated in 1963.

“Since the assassination of my father in 1968, candidates for president are provided Secret Service protection. But not me,” Kennedy tweeted.

“Typical turnaround time for pro forma protection requests from presidential candidates is 14-days. After 88-days of no response and after several follow-ups by our campaign, the Biden Administration just denied our request. Secretary Mayorkas: ‘I have determined that Secret Service protection for Robert F Kennedy Jr is not warranted at this time.’ Our campaign’s request included a 67-page report from the world’s leading protection firm, detailing unique and well established security and safety risks aside from commonplace death threats,” Kennedy wrote.

Standing tall, RFK Jr. pointed out the glaring hypocrisy.

And he’s right!

Even former President Barack Obama had Secret Service shadows almost a year before the election.

But RFK?

Nada.

Zilch.

Nothing.

His campaign manager, Dennis Kucinich, put it best. He declared, “‘The American people, no matter their politics, will find this decision shocking and repugnant.'”

And boy, he’s right.

I mean, I’ve seen more fairness in a rigged carnival game.

Meanwhile, the Secret Service, playing hard-to-get, decided to stay hush-hush.

Well, isn’t that cute?

Or should we say, conveniently silent?

As for the Biden administration, their latest act in this circus of absurdity is a piece de resistance of political maneuvering.

Politico has more details on RFK Jr.’s campaign response:

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s campaign slammed the Biden administration Friday alleging politics was behind the Democratic presidential candidate being denied Secret Service protection.

“Since the assassination of my father in 1968, candidates for president are provided Secret Service protection. But not me,” RFK Jr. wrote in a tweet.

[…]

“The American people, no matter their politics, will find this decision shocking and repugnant,” Kennedy campaign manager Dennis Kucinich said in a statement. “This is obviously a political decision, not a legal one. As such, this is directly on President Biden. It is absolutely implausible that the President would try to claim that he was not consulted by his cabinet secretary on a matter as sensitive as this.”

The Secret Service did not respond to a request for comment.

Former President Barack Obama received Secret Service protection in May 2007, an “unusually early step,” The New York Times noted at the time. Former GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul rejected Secret Service protection in 2012, calling it a “form of welfare.”

We’re about to plunge headfirst into this roller-coaster of double standards and political shenanigans.

To RFK Jr., I say, keep those zingers coming!

The show must go on, and it’s a hell of a show, isn’t it?
