Capitol Police Officer Charged With Child Pornography Possession


A U.S. Capitol Police officer was arrested Monday morning and charged with five counts of child pornography possession.

42-year-old USCP Officer Jared M. Lemon was arrested outside his Maryland home around 5:00 a.m.

“The USCP said in a statement that they learned about the investigation into Lemon in December 2022, and he was reassigned to administrative duties and away from public interaction,” FOX 5 DC reports.

Lemon has been with the USCP since 2005 and served with the Uniformed Services Bureau.

He’s suspended pending the outcome of the criminal case.

Maryland State Police arrested an officer with the U.S. Capitol Police at his home in Maryland early Monday morning on charges of possession of child pornography, according to the U.S. Capitol Police.

The Maryland State Police charged Jared M. Lemon, 42, with five counts of possession of child pornography, police said. He has been with the U.S. Capitol Police since 2005 and served with the agency’s Uniformed Services Bureau.

While authorities haven’t confirmed where he lives, an arrest warrant for Jared Michael Lemon of Owings in Calvert County, Maryland, was issued last Thursday on five counts of possession of child pornography in the District Court for Calvert County.
