Twitter Abandons Free Speech…

The European Union, Canada, and Australia have all gone full-on socialist. Only America stands as the last free beacon of the Western world. …

Regulators from the European Union have been placing increased pressure on Twitter to comply with its Orwellian ‘disinformation’ laws. …

Unfortunately, Twitter has capitulated and agreed to the European Union’s terms. …

So far, Elon Musk has remained silent on the matter, but I wonder if this will come to affect all of Twitter or if the silly little European socialists will be sequestered in their own corner of Twitter.

According to TRT World Now, EU regulator Thierry Breton has been threatening Musk for some time—attempting to force him into compliance.

The Guardian reports:

Twitter has agreed to comply with tough new EU laws on fake news, Russian propaganda and online crime after a team of officials from the European Commission entered its headquarters to stress test its capacity to operate legally in Europe.

The move came just weeks after Elon Musk, Twitter’s owner, quit the bloc’s voluntary code of practice on disinformation.

Estaban Ramón suggested, “Twitter should pull out of Europe; people can access Twitter through American web sites and that of other still free countries. EU is communist now.”

Bloomberg reports that Twitter has been given a deadline of August 25th to comply with the restrictive regulations due to an upcoming election.

Breitbart explained:

Breton said he told the Twitter team, with Musk joining by videoconference from New York, that “there are a few areas that will be critical immediately when the regulation will be enforceable.”

This would be “especially everything related to child abuse which is a very hot topic for us in Europe, also disinformation in elections,” Breton said.

The commissioner’s two-day visit to San Francisco came just weeks before the European Union’s Digital Service Act (DSA) comes into full force for the world’s biggest platforms, including Meta’s Facebook and Instagram, as well as TikTok and Twitter.
