Every day that goes by I become more and more ashamed of living in this country.
When I was a kid I never thought I would say these words, but America is turning into a third-world, banana republic where the political establishment attempts to arrest or legally encumber the political opposition.
This is something I expect to happen in Venezuela, Columbia, the Congo, Egypt, etc. …
It was never something I expected to happen here and certainly not within my lifetime, yet here we are. …
President Trump is facing multiple indictments, the most serious of which are the pending federal indictments against him.
As if that wasn’t enough, E. Jean Carroll has also announced a new case against President Trump set to start in January 0f 2024—an election year.
How is none of this considered election interference? It is beyond obvious what they’re trying to do to the 45th President of the United States.
Here are the latest developments:
A judge will let E. Jean Carroll amend her defamation lawsuit to seek more damages against former President Donald Trump for comments he made at a CNN town hall https://t.co/4g6EiXeVKA

According to CNN, the reason for the amended lawsuit were comments made by President Trump during a recent CNN town hall:
One day later Trump appeared at the CNN Republican presidential town hall and said, “I have no idea who this woman – this is a fake story, made up story.” He called Carroll a “whack job” and went on a tangent about her ex-husband and pet cat.
Trump’s lawyer opposed the amendment and said they wanted to move to dismiss the original lawsuit, which deals with comments Trump made while president and has been held up on appeal.
Democrats celebrated the recent news, the Democratic Coaltion tweeted:
“MORE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR TRUMP: A judge says E. Jean Carroll can amend a separate pending lawsuit to seek more damages against the disgraced former president for disparaging comments he made during a recent CNN town hall.”

One user pointed out that this is an obvious attempt at election interference. …
“A federal judge scheduled E. Jean Carroll’s second defamation trial against former President Donald Trump for January 2024, just days before Republican primary voters will begin the presidential nomination process. They are all guilty of election interference!”

Breitbart shared this response from President Trump’s legal counsel:
“We maintain that she should not be permitted to retroactively change her legal theory, at the eleventh hour, to avoid the consequences of an adverse finding against her,” Trump attorney Alina Habba said in a statement after Kaplan allowed the lawsuit to be amended.
