E. Jean Carroll Seeks Additional Damages From Donald Trump

E. Jean Carroll filed court papers Monday seeking “very substantial” monetary damages no less than $10 million from Donald Trump after his remarks on the CNN town hall, CNBC reports.

CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins brought up the bogus lawsuit by E. Jean Carroll against Trump during the televised town hall.

CNN Town Hall: E. Jean Carroll Named Her Cat ‘Vagina,’ Trump Says

A Manhattan federal jury awarded Carroll $5 million for “battery and defamation” in the civil case.

Trump denied all wrongdoing in the case and said Carroll made up the story.

Yet, the jury still decided to give her $5 million.

Kaitlan Collins wanted to force the issue, but Trump was undeterred when the anchor brought up the topic.

CNN framed this question during the town hall:

What do you say to voters who believe the jury verdict in the E. Jean Carroll case disqualifies you from being President?

Trump was unfazed by the question.

“My poll numbers went up, and they went up with the other fake charge, too, because what’s happening is they’re doing this for election interference,” Trump replied.

“This woman, I don’t know her. I never met her. I have no idea who she is. I had a picture taken years ago with her and her husband. Nice guy, John Johnson. He was a newscaster, very nice man. She called him an ape. Happens to be African American. Called him an ape. The judge wouldn’t allow us to put that in,” he continued.

“Her dog or her cat was named ‘Vagina.’ The judge wouldn’t allow to put that in all of these things. But with her, they could put in anything. Access Hollywood,” Trump said.

“This was a jury of nine people who found you liable of sexual abuse. Do you think that will deter women from voting for you?” Collins asked.

“No, I don’t think so because I think the whole thing, just so you understand ready, I never met this woman. I never sought this woman,” Trump said.

Daily Mail noted:

He also called Carroll a ‘whack job’ for her rape accusation against him, repeated his claim he didn’t know her and accused her of ‘hanky panky’ after a jury awarded her $5million in damages for sexual abuse and defamation.

The former President also tore into the judge in the case for not letting the jury hear she called her husband John Johnson an ‘ape’ and that her ‘cat was named vagina’.

CNBC reported on the latest developments from Carroll's lawsuit:

The move came as her lawyers asked a Manhattan federal court judge for permission to amend that first defamation lawsuit, which she lodged against Trump in 2019, to reflect his new statements on CNN about her, which they say also are defamatory.

"Trump's defamatory statements post-verdict show the depth of his malice toward Carroll since it is hard to imagine defamatory conduct that could possibly be more motivated by hatred, ill will, or spite," the proposed amended complaint said.

"This conduct supports a very substantial punitive damages award in Carroll's favor both to punish Trump, to deter him from engaging in further defamation, and to deter others from doing the same," the complaint said.
