Since leaving the White House Mike Pence has spent most of his time on Fox News giving his thoughts on what the current Trump administration should be doing in the Middle East.
In a recent interview with Fox News, the former Vice President continued the trend and called for President Trump to unleash the full power of the U.S. military on Iran.
Pence noted that a time to make a deal has come and gone and now is the time to act in military strength.

The time to make a deal has come and gone, according to the ex-vice president.
Mike Pence told Fox News on Monday morning he believes President Donald Trump will eventually ditch his latest push to strike a peace agreement with Iran and turn to what he should really be doing — bombing the enemy into submission.
“I honestly think the time has come for the president of the United States to unleash the armed forces of the United States, strike the remaining facilities in Iran, take down and degrade their ability to project force, not only in the Strait [of Hormuz] but across the region,” Pence said. “Look, one does not make peace with one’s enemy, one makes peace with one’s defeated enemy.”
He continued, “Given [Iran’s] posture and their attitudes and even denying negotiations are happening, I have every confidence there will come a moment where my old running mate has had enough, and we oughta turn loose the greatest military.”
Pence shared his take one day after Trump said a peace deal was “imminent.”
“I’m not looking to kill people, ’cause people die,” Trump told reporters on Sunday aboard Air Force One. “A lot of people die. And we don’t want that.”
Trump said he was ready to pummel Iran with the “biggest attack since World War II,” but held off after the country’s leaders and other Middle Eastern nations lobbied him to pause the strike— a claim Iran’s theocratic leaders said was bogus right after.

CBS News reported on Tuesday that Secretary of State Marco Rubio revealed the U.S. is in talks with Iran regarding the opening of the Strait of Hormuz:
Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Tuesday “there’s been progress made” in talks with Iran and Oman on the Strait of Hormuz, but that no final agreement has yet been reached.
Speaking to reporters at the State Department, Rubio said: “There’s been progress made in those talks, but not finality yet. We’re hoping that will happen very shortly.”

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has signaled that Iran doesn’t want to continue fighting.
Pezeshkian during a recent ceremony stated, “We also defend our own limits and boundaries, but we are not seeking to expand the war or that we want to continue the war.”
