WATCH: President Trump Suggests He’s Open to REMOVING John Thune if SAVE America Act Is Not Passed

President Trump is not too happy with Senate Majority Leader John Thune, as of late.

The heart of the conflict centers around the highly important piece of legislation known as the SAVE America Act.

As you probably know, this bill would secure our federal elections by requiring voter identification at the polls and during voter registration.

Recently, President Trump has been ramping up pressure on Sen. Thune to get his election integrity bill passed.

Specifically, he wants Thune to cancel the Senate’s upcoming 5-week vacation in order to get the job done.

But, Thune has repeatedly dismissed the president’s demands.

During a press conference on Wednesday, Sen. Thune announced that he will only call off the August recess if Republicans can secure all of the votes need to pass a budget reconciliation bill with the SAVE America Act attached.

“We have to have 50 votes,” he told reporters, “and at the moment, as I’ve said before, we’re probably not there.”

While speaking to reporters from the Oval Office on Wednesday, President Trump responded to Thune’s most recent refusal to heed his call.

He called it “too bad for him and too bad for the Republican Party.”

Then, President Trump was asked by a reporter if he believed Sen. Thune was still “the man for the job.”

In response to this question, President Trump suggested that he may support John Thune’s removal from the role of Senate Majority Leader if he does not get the SAVE America Act done.

President Trump has made it very clear: the SAVE America Act must be passed — by any means necessary.

If that means Sen. John Thune has to be ousted, then so be it.

President Trump is fed up, and he isn’t the only one.

A dozen Senators are rallying against John Thune.

These patriots say that they will oppose calling an August recess until the SAVE America Act is passed.
