Man Arrested After Setting Off “Incendiary Device” Outside NYC Federal Building In Anti-ICE Attack

This man should be charged with an act of terrorism.

On Monday afternoon, a man set off an “incendiary device” outside the Federal Plaza building in Manhattan, New York.

According to the FBI, the man who was armed, reportedly poured out a liquid substance outside of the building and proceeded to light it on fire.

A preliminary investigation has revealed the attack is being labeled as an anti-ICE attack.

The New York Post provided further details on the attack:

An armed maniac lit an “incendiary device” outside a federal building in lower Manhattan early Monday in an anti-ICE attack being investigated by the terrorism task force, according to officials and sources.

The unidentified man started a fire outside of 26 Federal Plaza, ignited fireworks and threatened passersby with airsoft rifles around 8:30 a.m., police and sources said.

Federal police took the perpetrator into custody at the scene — and found a cart with an anti-ICE message on it, sources said, with immigration agents among those who responded.

“This morning an individual deployed an incendiary device outside of 26 Federal Plaza,” the FBI confirmed to Fox News in a statement.

Here’s the moment the suspect was arrested:

ABC New York reported the man had an anti-ICE sign at the time of his arrest:

A separate video showed law enforcement officials gathered around a collection of weapons reportedly found in the man’s possession, including a pellet gun, some sort of knife and a hammer.

The NYPD said it was “looking at the cart the suspect wheeled with him” which they say contained fireworks and airsoft rifles. The suspect’s cart had a sign reading “ICE Off Our Streets.”

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has since responded to the attack:

What occurred outside 26 Federal Plaza this morning was deeply disturbing. I’m relieved no one was seriously injured and that a suspect is in custody. My team is in touch with the NYPD and we will support the federal investigation.

Our administration will continue to ensure that every New Yorker is safe in their city — and hold accountable any who threaten that.
