The U.S. death toll is rising in the ongoing conflict with Iran.
After Iranian airstrikes on a base in Jordan killed two U.S. service members on Friday, a third soldier was originally reported as missing in action.
Now, we are sad to report that unidentified remains, which could belong to the missing service member, have been discovered at the location. However, the remains have not been verified yet.
In addition, a third U.S. soldier was killed in action on Saturday during a controlled detonation of an Iranian drone.

CENTCOM Update on Recently Fallen U.S. Service Members
TAMPA, Fla. — Yesterday, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the passing of two U.S. service members and the missing status of one in Jordan following an Iranian attack on July 17. After a thorough search, U.S. military personnel found unidentified remains at the location earlier today. An examination process to verify the remains is ongoing.
Separately, a U.S. service member in northern Iraq was killed in action July 18 during a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance from a downed Iranian one-way attack drone. A second service member was wounded and continues to receive medical treatment for a minor injury.
CENTCOM is withholding additional information, including the identities of the missing and fallen warriors, out of respect for the families during the notification process.
Rest in peace, fallen heroes.
Their sacrifices mark the first U.S. deaths since the collapse of the ceasefire with Iran.

The attacks followed a six-day U.S. attack campaign in Iran in response to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) attacking commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

President Trump on Saturday said the deaths of U.S. service members in Jordan are “a very sad thing.”
“We hate to see it happen. They were in service of our country. And they, every one of them will never allow, they’ll fight to the death. But never allowing Iran to have a nuclear weapon,” Trump said when asked about the deaths of the service members by NewsNation’s Hannah Brandt.
