Although he’s been an outspoken leftist throughout his entire career, “Real Time” host Bill Maher has indicated in recent weeks that the Democrat Party has moved so far that he’s even considering a GOP vote in the next presidential election.
Most recently, he explained his contrarian stance during an interview on ABC News.
As The Hill reported:
“Every day I hear about a new very radical guy. I feel very good about like 10 whenever years ago, I did lose fans — because I wasn’t gonna go along with some of this crazy stuff on the Left too,” Maher said. “I didn’t change really on what I thought about the right. But I can’t sit and just not notice stuff, which people seem to want to do because it’s all about my team or your team. But yeah, there’s some crazy stuff.”
ADVERTISEMENTThe “Real Time” host added that when Democrats are “cheering for the intifada, cut! I’m out,” referring to the Arabic word for “uprising” and commonly associated with Palestinian resistance against Israel’s government.
“They’re cowardly,” Maher said about the party.
The comments sparked some social media discussion:

I disagree with him on probably most issues; he, like Jimmy Dore and other true Liberals (not leftists) are intellectually honest, even if they can't see their own logical contradictions.

The host also noted that he advised Vance to quit with the conspiracy theories about the 2020 election if he wanted the support of moderates: “This stuff that’s going on now, as I said to the vice president, this s*** has to stop.”
But Maher isn’t ready to jump ship just yet, adding that he thought there were “talented” Democrats who could run for the presidency from younger generations.
“I hope we can have an eight-person presidency next time because I can’t pick between this crop of geniuses,” Maher said sarcastically, before adding seriously: “No, there’s some very talented people.”
