Neighbor Shares Alarming Encounter With Mitch McConnell Just Days Before 911 Call

Although Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) finally released a photo and explanation for his weeks-long hospitalization, it hasn’t silenced the demands for transparency that have arisen since emergency personnel arrived at his home.

Part of what has fueled the skepticism is a history of troubling public episodes in recent years during which McConnell appears to freeze up for periods of time.

And as critics wonder just how much to believe of the official story, one of the Kentucky Republican’s neighbors is providing some additional context, as the Daily Beast reported:

A male neighbor told the Daily Mail that McConnell appeared to be in bad shape even before June 14, when he was found unconscious at home and taken to a hospital.

Days before that, the neighbor said, he witnessed McConnell slumped in a wheelchair while getting carried by staff.

“I was able to get a good look at his face,” the man said. “He was pale, with a blank stare, and his mouth hanging open.”

Another neighbor, a woman who lives on McConnell’s block, told The Mail that she saw him get carried into an ambulance on June 14—while his staffers appeared “obviously distraught” and “crying.”

“When he came out, I actually wondered if he was dead. He did not look good. He was not conscious. His eyes were closed, he had oxygen [tubes] strapped to his nose,” she said.

Meanwhile, the image that was supposed to satisfy the skeptics has largely done the opposite:

Here are more details, via Raw Story:

Another neighbor who spoke with the Daily Mail said McConnell’s staffers were “crying” as the Kentucky Republican was carried into an ambulance.

“When he came out, I actually wondered if he was dead. He did not look good,” the neighbor told the Daily Mail according to The Daily Beast, also speaking on the condition of anonymity.

“He was not conscious. His eyes were closed, he had oxygen [tubes] strapped to his nose. I knew by [his aides] running in and out that it was something serious. There weren’t a lot of sirens. That was the thing that was interesting.”

The new revelations sparked an outpouring of calls for transparency from onlookers.
