President Trump Demands SCOTUS Rehearing After “Anchor Baby” Billboards Pop Up Along Border

President Trump is now demanding an immediate rehearing of the birthright citizenship case at the U.S. Supreme Court.

As you probably know, late last month, SCOTUS ruled against President Trump’s attempt to end birthright citizenship for babies born to two foreign parents.

CNBC provided more background on that ruling:

The Supreme Court on June 30 held that babies born in the United States are automatically citizens under the Fourteenth Amendment’s Citizenship Clause.

The majority ruling rejected Trump’s executive order that sought to undo that benefit for the children of many immigrants.

Trump’s order, which he signed on Jan. 20, 2025, said that 30 days after its effective date, babies born in the U.S. were not entitled to be issued citizenship documents if their parents had immigrated illegally or were undocumented workers.

The Supreme Court has not agreed to rehear a ruling of a case already argued since 1965, and the last time it had reversed a decision it had made in an argued case was 1956, according to an article by Georgetown University Law Professor Steven Vladeck.

It’s extremely rare for SCOTUS to re-hear a case.

But, President Trump has a legitimate reason for them to break the status quo on this one…

You see, it was recently revealed that there are billboards advertising — in Spanish — services for immigrants who want to have their babies in the United States have reportedly appeared along our Southern Border.

Fox News dove deeper into what’s going on this clip:

Yes, really.

Hospitals are running a business off of birthright citizenship — literally advertising for pregnant foreigners to come have an anchor baby in the United States for around $4,000-5,000!

This has to end. U.S. citizenship should not be up for sale!

President Trump knows just how crucial it is to stop this type of scam in its tracks.

So, in a lengthy post on Truth Social, he announced that he will be asking the Supreme Court to re-consider the case.

Signs and Billboards are being put up all over our Southern Border, and Mexico, advertising BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP, with “Deliveries starting at $4000.” Likewise, similar signs going up all over our Country. Billions of Dollars will be illegally made by this SCAM, with Citizenship going to anyone willing to pay. It will be, by far, the number one way of becoming a citizen, and then the entire family will be allowed to follow. Not sustainable. NOBODY SAW THIS COMING!!! AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP IS NOT FOR SALE! In fact, that is a crime, and therefore, the Supreme Court’s ruling is wrong. I will be asking for a Rehearing by the United States Supreme Court, IMMEDIATELY. This miscarriage of justice will destroy America if they don’t change their absolutely insane decision. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott was the first to sound the alarm about these birth hospitals encouraging pregnant immigrants to come to America to have their babies.

Earlier this week, he ordered an investigation into one of the hospitals advertising at the border.

Fox News has more details on that:

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott ordered an investigation into a Texas hospital Tuesday after it confirmed to Fox News that it advertised Spanish-language “Birth Packages in South Texas” on billboards in Mexico promoting childbirth services to pregnant foreign nationals near the U.S.-Mexico border.

Mission Regional Medical Center confirmed to Fox News that it was responsible for the advertising campaign, which promoted deliveries starting at $3,950 for a natural birth and $5,525 for a C-section, and directed viewers to a website, havemybabyinTEXAS.com, which has since been taken offline.

The billboards also displayed a telephone number beginning with “001,” the country code used to place calls to the United States from Mexico.

“The marketing materials regarding maternity services are no longer in use due to any unintended misunderstanding,” a hospital spokesperson said in a statement to Fox News. “We do not support or facilitate any unlawful activity and work to comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.”

The spokesperson said the campaign included two billboards located within approximately 5 miles of the hospital near a U.S.-Mexico border crossing. The hospital said both billboards and the website were removed Monday after images began circulating on social media. The spokesperson also said the campaign began in 2021 but did not specify when the billboards were installed.

Abbott on Tuesday directed Texas Health and Human Services Commission Executive Commissioner Stephanie Muth to investigate Mission Regional Medical Center for potential violations of state law and contractual obligations.
