Leftists have been up in arms since a group of masked individuals purportedly representing the “Patriot Front” movement took to the streets of the nation’s capital over the weekend.
But one outspoken GOP lawmaker who is calling for an investigation into the matter noted that many of the same critics were silent during the Biden era.
As The Hill reported:
“What I find odd about Patriot Front is how under Biden they were never investigated. Well funded. Never investigated,” Luna wrote in a post on the social platform X.
ADVERTISEMENT“FBI under Biden looked into Catholics instead. So, looks like @GOPoversight should do some digging,” she added, referring to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
Luna’s push for a probe follows Patriot Front’s 400-person march throughout the nation’s capital on Saturday. Many of the people in the march were masked and uniformed, and some were carrying the American flag upside down.
Her post drew substantial engagement, including from those who are skeptical about the prevailing media narrative about the supposed extremist group:
Oh please, these guys are a bunch of feds and you know it.

I find it odd you only condemn whites. pic.twitter.com/HYfndukqb0

You are wrong on every thing you just said. They have been investigated, they are not well funded, and they are what they say they are: patriotic white guys forming fraternal orders to support other patriotic white guys. Here’s what Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) had to say, per KSL:
“Patriot Front: Brought to you by leftists who don’t know that patriots don’t wear masks,” Lee said in one post.
A later post showed marchers carrying flags, including the Confederate battle flag, along a street. Lee wrote: “Democrats need to stop reminding America of their racist history.”
ADVERTISEMENT“Are these really the most believable fake white supremacists SPLC money can buy?” Lee asked in another.
The senator appeared to be referring to the Southern Poverty Law Center, a nonprofit organization with the stated goal of “working in partnership with communities to dismantle white supremacy, strengthen intersectional movements, and advance the human rights of all people.”
And here’s more on the SPLC scandal:
