A firestorm has arisen across the Sunshine State and beyond after video footage began to spread online of a fatal shooting in a Walmart parking lot.
As the New York Post reported, the victim had been identified as 62-year-old Bart Diguglielmo, a retired US Army staff sergeant.
The woman claimed that she shot Diguglielmo in self-defense, police said.
Witnesses recalled the woman becoming hysterical as police investigated the shooting.
ADVERTISEMENT“I was walking up and heard a lady screaming,” David Anderson told CBS News Miami. “She was screaming and she was saying a lot of things.”
Video shared on social media captured the alleged dispute, as a woman wearing a white shirt stepped out of her car with a gun in her hand, talking back to a man, believed to be Diguglielmo, wearing a gray shirt, who had walked up on her.
The incident sparked a visceral reaction on social media:
I'm throwing money on Polymarket. Bet she only gets 6 months probation because you know she's black and he was racist. And going all in that BLM will use this for at least two different new "movements" in two different cities.

She will learn same lesson Karmello learned, self defense does not mean what they think it does. You can’t just shoot people over an argument. Dumb people and guns don’t mix well.

You can't dislike the MSM enough…
The truth doesn't fit their narrative or agenda.

Self defense from what? She needs to rot in jail

Absolutely.
This was murder. Period
No self defense, whatsoever.

CBS News added some additional details:
A sister of Diguglielmo, who declined to provide her full name, spoke to CBS News Miami by phone, saying that she was devastated by the loss. She described her brother as a decorated military veteran who served in Desert Storm.
“He was a Christian man and a very good person and would not hurt anyone,” she said.
Diguglielmo was a retired nurse who had practiced for 30 years. His sister called the incident “just heartbreaking,” noting that he had an identical twin who died years ago.
