Joe Biden Ridiculed For Calling President Trump ‘A Loser’ In Rambling Speech

After sleepwalking through his own term in the White House and tanking his party’s 2024 chances by refusing to exit until after his brain shut down during a presidential debate, Joe Biden probably isn’t the best judge of another president’s effectiveness.

Nevertheless, someone was willing to pay him to make another rambling speech, and he couldn’t resist taking a few cheap shots at the man who preceded and succeeded him in office.

As The Hill reported:

“It’s not just his vanity projects,” Biden said in remarks at a Saturday night gala hosted by the Maryland Democratic Party. “He’s tearing down the East Wing of the White House, making room for his ballroom. Putting his name on the Kennedy Center. Building an arch in his own honor. Even hiring his own pool guy to fix his Reflecting Pool.

“Whoa, what a loser.”

Trump’s efforts to renovate the Reflecting Pool have not gone smoothly, as officials have battled an algae bloom and alleged vandalism since the site was repainted and repaired. Other Trump administration beautification projects include a $600 million White House ballroom being built on the site of the East Room and plans to build a triumphal arch in the president’s name.

Trump’s name was also added to the Kennedy Center exterior before it was removed after a federal judge’s order.

“Now folks, it’s not just that,” Biden said on Saturday. “The Reflecting Pool reflects something even worse than the narcissism and incompetence at the core of this administration. It’s the corruption, the brazen, blatant corruption. Corruption on a scale never seen before in American history in any administration.

Plenty of social media users were quick to remind the stone-throwing Biden of his position inside a glass house:

The Daily Mail provided this coverage of Biden’s remarks:

Biden was forced to pause several times as hecklers interrupted portions of his speech, which was also punctuated by the former president coughing several times.

The appearance marked one of Biden’s highest-profile public speeches in recent weeks as he continues making political appearances while battling Stage 4 prostate cancer.

Throughout the address, Biden defended his own administration’s record while arguing that Trump’s return to the White House had damaged the country’s standing at home and abroad.

He claimed Americans increasingly viewed the economy more favorably under his administration than under Trump’s.

Later in the same article:

Biden concluded with a familiar appeal for national unity and optimism.

‘We can do this, and we will,’ he told the crowd. ‘We just need to remember who in the hell we are. We’re the United States of America! There is nothing beyond our capacity if we work together!’

He then appeared confused as he tried to leave the stage, asking for directions.

The speech came more than two years after Biden ended his 2024 reelection campaign following widespread concern among Democrats over his debate performance against Trump.
