Vance Delivers Firm ‘Two-Fold’ Message To Israeli Cabinet Members Opposed To Iran Deal

Although the pieces are in place for an end to the military action in Iran, there are more than a few critics around the world who continue campaigning against the terms of the deal.

Some of those naysayers are in Israel’s Cabinet, and Vice President J.D. Vance recently addressed those skeptics directly, reminding them of some key geopolitical realities.

The Daily Caller added these details:

Vance noted that it “bothered” him that members of Netanyahu’s cabinet “who have come out and attacked the deal and in some ways very personally have attacked the President of the United States.”

He said his message to those officials would be “two-fold, number one Donald J. Trump is the only head of state in the entire world who is sympathetic to the nation of Israel at this moment in time. And he happens to be the head of state of the world’s superpower.”

Vance then offered some of his own advice to the Israeli cabinet members, saying that if he were in their position, he “might not attack the only powerful ally that I have left in the entire world.”

He also delivered a second message, while noting that Netanyahu himself had not gone down the same path as some members of his cabinet.

“The other thing I would say is that over the last three months two-thirds of the defensive weapons who have protected your homeland have been built by American hands and paid for by American tax dollars. The problem for Israel is not Donald J. Trump and anybody in Israel who thinks their biggest problem is the President of the United States needs to wake up and smell the reality of the situation that country is in.”

A clip of Vance’s remarks soon spread on social media:

There was plenty of discussion about his message in the comments:

Elon Musk even signaled his approval:

Here’s more coverage, via AP News:

While Netanyahu has been careful not to openly criticize this week’s ceasefire deal, some members of his Cabinet have been more outspoken. National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who leads a small ultranationalist party, this week declared that Israel is not “bound” by Trump’s agreement and said it would not cave in to international pressure.

Vance noted that Netanyahu has not publicly criticized Trump, but he accused unnamed members of Netanyahu’s Cabinet of being ungrateful. He said Israel has few friends in the international community and protected itself with large quantities of weapons paid for by the United States.

Netanyahu’s office declined to comment on Vance’s statement.
