As President Donald Trump pursues a peaceful resolution to the military operation in Iran, his ambassador to Israel is making it clear that the administration is not abandoning America’s closest ally in the region.
Mike Huckabee issued a sharply worded statement aimed at Iran after that nation imposed new demands on Israel.
His social media post received a wave of responses ranging from skeptical to supportive:
Kudos to Ambassador Huckabee! Also, the Islamist regime offered Iranian citizenship to foreigners who supported their position in the war. Wouldn’t all the Israel/Jew haters be much more comfortable over there in a Shia theocracy? They also enforce a strict moral code along with…

Great for Israel
Not so good for people of Iran
Better still deradicalized or remove Islamist threat full stop wherever it is.— Lance Forman (@LanceForman) June 17, 2026

The Hill provided these details:
Huckabee has said that Hezbollah is not included in the 14-point memorandum of understanding (MOU) to finalize the end of the U.S.-Israeli conflict on Iran. The MOU does not refer to the Iran-backed militant group but it does “declare the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon.”
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, however, said the ceasefire holds “particular emphasis on Lebanon.”
“Any continued occupation of Lebanese territory will be regarded by us as a violation of the memorandum of understanding,” Araghchi told diplomats in remarks played on Iranian state media Tuesday, according to CBS News.
The Khatam Al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, the operational command for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, on Tuesday also warned Israel to stop “repeated ceasefire violations in Lebanon or face a harsh response from Iran’s Armed Forces,” the state-run Fars News Agency reported.
Huckabee previously said Israel “does not need Iran permission to defend itself.”
The ambassador has been among several high-ranking Trump administration sources offering insight into the developing deal set to be signed later this week.
Given his role, Huckabee’s comments have largely hinged on issues impacting Israel, as the Times of Israel noted in a recent news brief:
In response to Hezbollah claiming that the terror group received assurances from Iran that there will be no nuclear deal without Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanon, Huckabee says that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio “made clear” that the two issues aren’t connected.
Huckabee’s comments come amid rising tensions between US and Israeli leadership:
