President Trump is done waiting on Senate Democrats to let an election-integrity bill through.
On June 11, he called on Republicans to fold the SAVE America Act into the forthcoming $350 billion Pentagon reconciliation package, known as Recon 3.0.
The move matters because reconciliation is the one Senate lane where Democrats cannot use the ordinary filibuster.
Eric Daugherty flagged the announcement as it broke:
In his Truth Social post, President Trump called on Republicans to “IMMEDIATELY advance and pass” Recon 3.0, saying it would include “THE SAVE AMERICA ACT as well.”
He also called Recon 3.0 the only path to the full $1.5 trillion military budget.
The post itself was longer than the X preview showed:

Full text transcript of President Trump’s Truth Social post:
No other President has ever been more committed to both REBUILDING our Great Military and SAVING our Great Country — And NOW is the time to make it happen, for Generations to come.
I am hereby calling on Republicans in Congress to IMMEDIATELY advance and pass the forthcoming $350 Billion Reconciliation Bill (Recon 3.0) — which, at the request of our Great Department of War — will include THE SAVE AMERICA ACT as well.
No games, no delays, and no weak compromises! Do this ASAP.
This is a GENERATIONAL Investment in our Military, even bigger than President Reagans!
Recon 3.0 is the ONLY path to the full $1.5 TRILLION DOLLAR Military Budget our Warriors need in order to build THE ARSENAL OF FREEDOM.
We will defend the Homeland with the Golden Dome, launch the unstoppable Golden Fleet, dominate the skies with the F-47 and B-21, supercharge our ammunition stockpiles, and achieve total Space Force and Drone Dominance!
This Budget reignites American Industry, creates hundreds of thousands of high-paying American Jobs, and secures our Global Dominance without fueling Inflation.
Also, with THE SAVE AMERICA ACT, it will protect our Elections for Generations to come.
Our Warriors protect our most Sacred Rights, and Voting is at the top. Time to defend that Right for every American!
Pass ALL $350 BILLION and THE SAVE AMERICA ACT to secure the NATION for our children and grandchildren.
THE SAVE AMERICA ACT!
1. ALL VOTERS MUST SHOW PHOTO ID (IDENTIFICATION).
2. ALL VOTERS MUST SHOW PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP.
3. NO MAIL-IN BALLOTS (EXCEPT FOR ILLNESS, DISABILITY, MILITARY, OR TRAVEL!).
4. NO MEN IN WOMEN’S SPORTS.
5. NO TRANSGENDER MUTILIZATION SURGERY FOR OUR CHILDREN.
So the play is clear. Tie a major election-integrity bill to the next reconciliation package and force the fight into a lane Republicans can actually control if they hold together.
The SAVE America Act is built around one idea most Americans already believe.
The White House lays it out plainly:
American citizens — and only American citizens — should decide American elections.
The Save America Act is a common sense, bipartisan bill that would simply require —
A Valid ID Before Registering to Vote in a Federal Election
Proof of Citizenship
No Mail-in Ballots (Except for Illness, Disability, Military or Travel)The President is calling on Republicans and Democrats to pass the SAVE America Act.
Requirement for Voter I.D. to vote should be something that NO American should oppose.
ADVERTISEMENTIf you want to register to vote in the United States, you have to be a citizen in the United States.
The SAVE America ACT will direct states to remove non-citizens from the voter rolls.
AMERICA lags behind other nations in enforcing basic and necessary election protections —
India and Brazil tie voter I.D. to a biometric database, while the United States largely relies on self-attestation for citizenship.
Germany and Canada require paper ballots when tabulating votes, while the U.S. lacks basic chain-of-custody protections.
Denmark and Sweden sensibly limit mail-in voting to those unable to vote in person.
Late arrivals do not count—while American elections now feature mass voting by mail, even after Election Day.
The underlying bill is H.R. 22.
It would amend the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 to require proof of United States citizenship to register to vote in federal elections.
That is the core fight. Citizens vote, citizens decide, and the rolls get cleaned up.
The reason for the reconciliation route is not complicated.
Republicans have already said the 60-vote Senate route is a dead end.
The Republican Study Committee made that case months ago:
WASHINGTON, D.C. — With just a short eight months until the 119th Congress ends and no viable path to sixty votes in the Senate on critical legislation, the Republican Study Committee (RSC) is sounding the alarm: reconciliation is the best vehicle to get conservative priorities to President Trump’s desk.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shutdown and the Senate’s stalling of the SAVE America Act removed any doubt that a single Democrat vote is coming.
Congressional Democrats passed two reconciliation bills without hesitation when they held the majority, and Republicans should do the same.
Over a dozen members of the RSC are united in passing a second reconciliation bill:
“The DHS shutdown and the stall on the SAVE America Act have removed any doubt: there is not a single Democrat vote waiting for us in the Senate.
We have no path to 60, and we cannot afford to wait,” said RSC Chairman August Pfluger (TX-11).
“Democrats did not hesitate to use their trifecta to push through two reconciliation bills, and neither should we.
Speaker Johnson is right that this bill does not have to be as big to be just as beautiful, and the RSC framework gives us exactly the foundation we need to move.
Voters sent us here to fight for them, not to beg for votes from a party that wants to see this country fail.
It is time to get it done.”
That is the exact logic President Trump is now putting back on the table.
Stop begging for Democrat votes that are never coming. Use the majority voters handed Republicans and make the Senate fight on terrain where Republicans can win.
An earlier effort to attach the bill to reconciliation fell short when a handful of Republicans crossed over.
This time, President Trump is putting his own weight behind the package and tying it to a massive defense push.
Passage is not finished yet.
Recon 3.0 still has to survive Senate rules, hold Republican votes, and get through the House and Senate.
But the message from President Trump is unmistakable.
The SAVE America Act is not dead. It just found a new road.
