It hasn’t been a full day since Karmelo Anthony was officially sentenced to 35 years in prison for the murder of Texas football star Austin Metcalf.
And, already, one particular Democrat Congresswoman is making truly wild claims to defend him…
I’m taking about former “lawyer” Rep. Jasmine Crockett, of course.
She wasted no time in spewing off straight-up lies about the case, implying that Karmelo Anthony was completely justified for killing Metcalf.
While speaking to TMZ, the outgoing Democrat “Squad” member blamed racism for the conviction and described Karmelo Anthony as a “scared black boy.”
“Thirty-five years for going under a tent as it was raining?” she questioned, glossing over the whole…you know…stabbing and murder factors!
Watch this nonsense for yourself:
Rep. Crockett’s take is both completely stupid and an obvious attempt to stir up racial hatred.
To suggest that someone who brought a knife with him to a track meet, where he proceeded to stab a 17-year-old boy to death, was just “scared” and wanted to get out of the rain is ridiculously insane.
Many of Crockett’s claims there are also blatantly false.
For instance, she described Austin Metcalf as bigger than Karmelo Anthony, when in reality, Anthony was slightly larger both in stature and weight.
She also painted a portrait of Metcalf as the aggressor, which several witness testimonies denied.
Rep. Crockett took her exaggerations even farther during a recent podcast where she disgustingly suggested that she may have also stabbed Metcalf if put in a similar situation.
The New York Post has more on that:
On Tuesday’s episode of “Clock It with Crockett,” the failed Senate candidate let loose a torrent of falsehoods to paint a picture of the brutal slaying of 17-year-old Metcalf that had virtually no basis in reality.
The cavalcade of inaccuracies started with Crockett downplaying the size of the semi-serrated, 5-inch pocket knife Anthony was convicted of plunging into Metcalf’s chest during a dispute at a track meet at Memorial High School in Frisco, Texas, last April.
“Wait a minute, it was this?” she said, holding her thumb and forefinger about an inch apart to demonstrate the size of the murder weapon.
“Was it a switch? I don’t know what he had,” Crockett said, inadvertently telegraphing her flimsy grasp of the facts of the case that has roiled her home state for more than a year.
One of her guests claimed the knife was “a multi-tool” akin to a Swiss army knife.
“Yeah, like with the little scissors and everything and whatever. So it was small,” Crockett said, furrowing her brow and squinting her eyes in disbelief.
“Well, I would argue the size of it alone, you wouldn’t even think it’s a deadly weapon.”
ADVERTISEMENTPictures of the knife have not been released, but it was described as having one-handed opening and a semi-serrated blade with a sharp point.
Anthony’s knife penetrated Metcalf’s sternum and entered his heart, leaving a “gaping” 2-inch stab wound and causing the teenager to bleed to death.
Crockett continued, flagrantly embellishing every single detail of the confrontation that led to the deadly stabbing.
“If a 300-pound man is beating me, like on top of me and beating me down, I’m not limited to fists,” she said, seemingly implying she too would have stabbed the high school athlete.
Metcalf was 6 feet and 200 pounds, a far cry from her claim about the victim’s stature.
Anthony was also a high school football standout — and was listed as 5 feet 11 and 162 pounds.
Here’s a clip from Rep. Crockett’s recent podcast episode, where she claims that Anthony’s knife was “not a deadly weapon”:

Thank the Lord that this crazy woman will soon be out of Congress!
But, this X post makes an excellent point…
Jasmine Crockett is a criminal defense attorney.
If she felt this passionately, she should have offered to represent Karmelo Anthony for free. https://t.co/otLKbbSpLb

Maybe Jazzy can represent Karmelo Anthony in his appeal case.
Which, by the way, he is planning to do, per this clip from Fox News:
🚨 JUST IN: Karmelo Anthony is officially APPEALING his Austin Metcalf murder conviction and 35-year sentence
IT NEEDS TO FAIL!
The evidence is clear as day, the jury SWIFTLY convicted him, and the "racism" claims fell flat.
Quash the appeal and make him serve the time! Even… pic.twitter.com/wHnOJTflzo

After all, Crockett will certainly have the time to do it, now that voters have resoundingly ousted her from politics!
