ALERT: Over 1 Million Vehicles Recalled By Manufacturer Due To Potential Fire Hazard

Stellantis, Chrysler’s parent company, is recalling over 1 million Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators in the United States due to a potential fire risk.

“Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2025 Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator vehicles. The electric hydraulic power steering pump wiring may overheat and cause a vehicle fire, even when the vehicle is parked with the ignition in the ‘Off’ position,” a notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) read.

In total, the recall includes more than 787,000 Jeep Wranglers and 289,000 Jeep Gladiators.

To fix the issue, dealers will inspect and replace affected parts as necessary, free of charge, per the recall notice.

“Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures, until their vehicle is repaired. Dealers will inspect and replace affected parts, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 9, 2026,” the NHTSA notice read.

CBS News noted:

The automaker says it’s “working diligently” to makes remedies available to customers and “anticipates a solution no later than July.”

Some 253,000 more vehicles in Canada, Mexico and outside North America are also part of the recall, Stellantis points out.
