JUST IN: Pam Bondi Testifies on Epstein Files in First Appearance Since DOJ Departure

Former Attorney General Pam Bondi spent three and half hours on Capitol Hill today testifying on the Epstein files.

This is her first public appearance since she was fired from the DOJ and diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

Upon her arrival, Bondi was spotted wearing a large bandage on her throat from recent surgery.

CBS News shared some footage:

Whatever your opinion on Bondi’s career, you’ve got to admit she’s one tough cookie.

To even show up amid a battle with cancer takes a great amount of strength and resilience.

Here’s another photo from Bondi’s appearance on Capitol Hill:

Whatever your views on Pam Bondi, you have to acknowledge the determination she showed today while testifying before the House Oversight Committee on Capitol Hill.

She appeared while still undergoing treatment for thyroid cancer, with the dressing from recent surgery visibly present on her neck.

As Attorney General, she was placed in an extraordinarily difficult position, dealing with the Epstein files and the intense scrutiny that comes with it.

Regardless of where you stand politically, it was a remarkable display of professionalism, resilience, and composure under pressure.

I wish you all the best for a full and speedy recovery @PamBondi

Still, some people will be disappointed to hear that Bondi’s testimony today was not under oath.

It was not aired to the public or even recorded, so we don’t have any footage of her actually answering questions.

Fox News provided further coverage in this clip:

As for what went on behind closed doors during Bondi’s testimony, we know that she stood by the DOJ’s release of the Epstein files, while admitting “redaction errors” were made.

Here’s a summary on Bondi’s opening remarks on Capitol Hill:

  • Expressed pride in the DOJ’s unprecedented transparency under her leadership during the Trump administration, including the production of nearly 3 million pages of Epstein files, thousands of videos, and hundreds of thousands of images.
  • Highlighted that Epstein/Maxwell investigations and document releases only advanced under President Trump across multiple administrations (Bush through Biden).
  • Stated that, to the best of her knowledge, the DOJ produced everything required under the Epstein Files Transparency Act through a diligent, good-faith, comprehensive review process.
  • Noted she delegated oversight to then-Deputy AG (now Acting AG) Todd Blanche and did not personally lead every aspect of the review.
  • Said the review team assured her that withheld materials were only non-responsive, privileged, or duplicative; the DOJ also provided Congress access to unredacted/duplicative materials for maximum transparency.
  • Acknowledged “redaction errors” occurred, but emphasized the Department’s ongoing commitment to accountability, transparency, and pursuing any credible evidence of criminal activity.
  • Reaffirmed her career focus on fighting for victims, expressed sorrow for their suffering, and encouraged them to come forward to the FBI.
  • Concluded that “justice and transparency” on the Epstein files were delivered at the direction of President Trump and his administration.

Following her appearance on Capitol Hill, Pam Bondi took to X to correct some lies already being pushed by Democrats in Congress about her testimony.

For instance, Rep. Walkinshaw tried to imply that Bondi left it up in the air as to whether or not President Trump knew about Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes early.

Here’s that original clip:

Bondi shot down his claims as a gigantic “MISREPRESENTATION” in this reply on X:

In another instance, Democrat Rep. Robert Garcia claimed that Bondi tried to shove all responsibility onto current Acting AG Todd Blanche.

But, Bondi was quick to correct him on X:

Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon was also present during Bondi’s testimony on Capitol Hill.

She revealed more details to the New York Post:

Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon told The Post following Bondi’s four-hour transcribed interview before the House Oversight Committee that the 60-year-old also declared twice that Maxwell, the accomplice and occasional girlfriend of convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, should not receive a presidential pardon.

“Females who collaborate with sex offenders are worse because they procure other victims for the sex offender,” Dhillon said Bondi had expressed.

The former AG also maintained that the 64-year-old Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year federal prison sentence after being convicted in late 2021 on charges including sex trafficking conspiracy and trafficking of a minor, was “very evil” and should not have her sentence commuted.

The House Oversight Committee is investigating the Department of Justice’s handling of files related to Epstein, who was found dead in his Manhattan jail cell Aug. 10, 2019, while awaiting his own trial on federal trafficking charges.
