President Trump during his cabinet meeting on Wednesday exposed Iran’s plans to wait him out.
Trump while addressing members of his cabinet shared that Iran is currently negotiating on fumes.
He then shared Iran thought they were going to wait him out until the midterms.
Trump proceeded to point to AG Ken Paxton’s landslide victory over Sen. John Cornyn as evidence that the midterms won’t be impacted by his military decisions on Iran.
The Guardian reported more on Trump’s comments on Iran holding out until the midterms:
Donald Trump has accused Iran of trying to stall on making a peace agreement by running down the clock before November’s US midterm elections in the hope of getting better terms.
“They thought they were going to out-wait me, you know, ‘We’ll out wait him, he’s got the midterms,” the US president told a meeting of his cabinet at the White House on Wednesday.
He insisted the approach – supposedly aimed at ratcheting up pressure on the US and global economies by keeping the strategically vital strait of Hormuz closed – would fail, and claimed that Iran “wants very much to make a deal”.
“I don’t care about the midterms, look what happened last night,” Trump said, an apparent reference to the triumph of Ken Paxton, who he had endorsed, over the sitting Republican senator John Cornyn in the Republican Senate primary.

Later during his cabinet meeting Trump shared that if Iran is not willing to make a deal, then Secretary of War Pete Hegseth will “finish them off”:

Hegseth also addressed the topic of Iran and during the cabinet meeting revealed Iran still has a stockpile of missiles.
MSN covered Hegseth’s comments on Iran’s current military capabilities:
US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth acknowledges that Iran retains some missiles, even after the weeks-long US-Israel bombing campaign.
However, Tehran can no longer build new ones, he claims.
“They may have missiles, but they can’t build more right now,” Hegseth says during a cabinet meeting.
“They can’t build more drones right now, and they can’t build more ships, and so they came and cried ‘uncle’ to talk,” Hegseth claims.
Touting the US blockade of Iranian ports, Hegseth says, “No Iranian tanker around the globe is safe, and we’ve seen seizures all around the globe, choking off their economic life blood.”
Will Iran continue to hold out on a deal or will Hegseth have to finish them off as President Trump shared?
