New Details Emerge Regarding The Last Moments Leading Up To NASCAR Star Kyle Busch’s Death

One of my favorite quotes from a movie is from the Sandlot when Babe Ruth says “Heroes get remembered but legends never die”

That line perfectly sums up the life of legendary NASCAR star Kyle Busch.

As WLT Report previously reported, Kyle Busch has died at the age of 41.

The cause of his death has yet to be revealed but new reports reveal that he passed out in a racing simulator before dying in a hospital on Thursday.

OutKick provided more insight into the moments leading up to Busch’s sudden death:

Kyle Busch died Thursday at 41, becoming the first active NASCAR driver to die since Dale Earnhardt in 2001.

Busch’s family released a statement hours before his death, only saying that the two-time Cup champion would miss Sunday’s race at Charlotte after being hospitalized with a “severe illness.”

Busch died sometime Thursday afternoon, with no cause of death given. The Associated Press has since reported that Busch collapsed in a Chevy simulator sometime Wednesday and was transported to a Charlotte hospital.

NASCAR called Busch a “future Hall of Famer” and a “rare talent” in a release Thursday evening.

“Throughout a career that spanned more than two decades, Kyle set records in national series wins, won championships at NASCAR’s highest level and fostered the next generation of drivers as an owner in the Truck Series,” the statement continued.”His sharp wit and competitive spirit sparked a deep emotional connection with race fans of every age, creating the proud and loyal ‘Rowdy Nation.’”

Here’s Busch after winning his last race at Dover Motor Speedway:

On May 10 Busch made a pitstop during a race at Watkins Glen and asked to see a doctor:

AP reported more Busch’s last races before his death:

The news comes 11 days after Busch radioed into his crew near the end of a Cup Series race at Watkins Glen asking a doctor to give him a “shot” when he finished the race. According to the TV broadcast, Busch had been struggling with a sinus cold exacerbated by the intense G-forces and elevation changes at the New York road course.

Busch finished the race in eighth place.

Busch competed at Dover last weekend and won the Trucks Series race for Spire Motorsports. He then finished 17th at the NASCAR All-Star race, his final race.

“Absolutely cannot comprehend this news,” NASCAR driver and former teammate Denny Hamlin posted on social media. “We just need to think of his family during this time. We love you KB.”

Added driver Brad Keselowski on social media: “Absolute shock. Very hard to process.”

Since his death, tributes for Busch have been flooding X.
