President Trump is asking the Department of Justice to launch an investigation into the state of Maryland after election officials made a big ‘mistake’ related to mail-in ballots.
You see, they recently sent out 500,000 mail-in ballots for the state’s upcoming primary elections.
But, many of these ballots were sent to voters with the wrong party on them. Whoops!
So, to correct that mistake, Maryland election officials announced that they are simply sending out another round of 500,000 ballots to every single voter.
In other words, this means that there are now double the amount of mail-in ballots circulating in Maryland than there should be.
But, don’t worry, they’re assuring everyone that this will not create any voter fraud and that every ballot from the initial batch will be tossed out.
NBC News provided more details on the situation:
Maryland election officials are reissuing around a half-million mail ballots after they said Friday that a vendor issue led to some voters’ receiving primary ballots for the wrong party. Since election officials cannot determine who received the wrong ballot, the state is sending all potentially affected voters new ballots.
Trump said Friday on Truth Social: “In Maryland, they sent out 500,000 Illegal Mail In Ballots, and they got caught! So now, they’re going to send out 500,000 more Mail In Ballots, but nobody knows what’s happening with the first 500,000 they sent.”
The State Board of Elections had previously said that the initial ballots will be sequestered and voided and that only the replacement ballots will be cast and counted.
“There is no risk of duplicate voting as a result of this issue. Election officials have safeguards in place to ensure that only one ballot can be accepted per voter. Every return envelope/oath has a unique identifier to ensure that a voter can only vote one ballot. SBE has implemented additional safeguards to ensure only the correct ballot is counted for each voter,” the board said in a release Monday.
The error was made by a printing company, state election officials said, which will be paying for the reissued ballots. Maryland’s primary is set to take place June 23.
Despite Maryland election officials’ best efforts to reassure us that the primaries will be 100% fraud-free, this situation is raising alarm bells for many people with common sense — President Trump included!
On Monday, President Trump took to Truth Social to address the troubling mail-in ballot situation in Maryland.
He announced that he has asked the DOJ to investigate it and directly called out “Corrupt” Governor of Maryland Wes Moore.

During an event at the White House on Monday, President Trump doubled down.
He said that he is very concerned about what’s going on in Maryland and has asked law enforcement to “look at it very strenuously.”

“I’ve asked law enforcement to look at it very strenuously.”
“In Maryland, 500,000 FAKE BALLOTS were sent out. When they were caught, they said, oh, we’ll pull them back!”
“And they issued 500,000 new ballots. And as you know, they never got the original ballots back!”
“So there are MILLION ballots out there.”
“Many of them went to Democrats, and it’s a very serious thing.”
“They didn’t pull them back. And they have 500,000 new ballots going. So what happens to the original? Are they going to come in! And are they going to come in and infect our system? So it’s a very, very serious thing that’s happened.”
Truthfully, this is just the latest example of why mail-in ballots should not be allowed, or should be majorly limited, in the first place!
