The sound of thousands of voices singing “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty” rose over the National Mall on Sunday as Americans from across the country gathered for one purpose: to rededicate this nation to God.
Rededicate 250, a National Jubilee of Prayer, Praise and Thanksgiving hosted by Freedom 250, brought faith leaders, Trump administration officials, and believers of every background to the heart of Washington, D.C., for a full day of Scripture, worship, testimony, and prayer.
The stage was set at 12th Street. The program ran from 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
And the message was unmistakable: America’s rights come from God, not government, and the nation’s next 250 years depend on her willingness to remember that.

The lineup alone told the story of a movement that crosses churches, denominations, and public life.
As Washington Examiner reported, the event featured video remarks from President Donald Trump alongside appearances by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Speaker Mike Johnson, Senator Tim Scott, and Dr. Ben Carson.
That is not a political rally. That is a nation on its knees.

The Freedom 250 event page laid out the vision in three pillars: The Miracles that Made Us, The Miracles Still in Our Midst, and A New Birth of Faith and Freedom.
Americans from every background were invited to come and prepare for the nation’s 250th birthday through Scripture, testimony, prayer, and a public rededication of the country as One Nation to God.
Rededicate 250 is coming to life in the heart of Washington, D.C. and it’s going to be one of the most unforgettable moments leading into America’s 250th anniversary.

Secretary Hegseth put it as plainly as anyone could in his invitation ahead of the event.
He called on patriots from every state to come together on the National Mall “under one flag and one God.”
A nation worth fighting for is a nation worth praying for. Rededicate 250 on Sunday, May 17, will bring patriots from every state together on the National Mall under one flag and one God.

The day also falls inside a broader movement of prayer sweeping the country ahead of July 4.
Franklin Graham launched a 50 Days of Prayer for Our Nation campaign beginning May 15, with a pastor from a different state leading prayer at noon Eastern every day through Independence Day.
As Standing for Freedom Center reported, Graham said there is nothing more powerful Americans can do for the country, churches, and families than come together in prayer before God Almighty.
I’m calling for 50 days of prayer for our nation as we look forward to our 250th anniversary on July 4, and it begins today! Each day, a pastor from a different state will lead us in a prayer for America at noon ET right here on my X page, and I ask you to join us.

This is what a nation turning back to God looks like.
On the National Mall, in the open air, thousands of voices lifted together in worship and thanksgiving.
America is 250 years old this July. The question for the next 250 was answered on the Mall on Sunday: we are, and will remain, One Nation Under God.
The official Freedom 250 event page described the gathering this way:
Freedom 250’s official event page framed Rededicate 250 as a National Jubilee of Prayer, Praise & Thanksgiving on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
Gates opened at 9:00 AM, the program ran from 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM, and the main stage was listed at 12th Street. The page described the day as a call for Americans from every background to gather before the nation’s 250th birthday with Scripture, testimony, prayer, worship, and thanksgiving.
It said the purpose was to give thanks for God’s presence in America’s national life over 250 years and ask for His guidance for the next 250. The organizers framed the gathering around a public rededication of the country as One Nation to God, language that gave the day both a patriotic and unmistakably spiritual center.
The event’s three pillars were The Miracles that Made Us, The Miracles Still in Our Midst, and A New Birth of Faith and Freedom. That structure put the focus on America’s founding, God’s continued mercy, and the need for national renewal as the country approaches its 250th birthday.
Washington Examiner reported on the faith leaders, Trump administration officials, and worship lineup tied to the National Mall event:
Washington Examiner placed the event in the America 250 calendar and described a full National Mall program with faith leaders, public officials, video remarks from President Trump, and a worship concert.
The lineup included Marco Rubio, Pete Hegseth, Speaker Mike Johnson, Ben Carson, Tim Scott, Franklin Graham, Jonathan Falwell, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Rabbi Meir Soloveichik, Sadie Robertson Huff, Eric Metaxas, Chris Tomlin, Blessing Offor, and Aodhan King.
That mix matters because the event was not limited to one pulpit, one denomination, or one political lane. It put national leaders, pastors, evangelists, worship artists, and public servants on the same stage for a day centered on prayer and thanksgiving.
The account also highlighted Hegseth’s public framing that Americans’ rights come from God, not government. That line is important to the pro-God, pro-America spine of the day: this was bigger than a patriotic ceremony.
It was a public declaration that America’s liberty has a divine source. In a capital city that too often treats power as the highest authority, Rededicate 250 pointed the country back to the King above every office, agency, and court.
Standing for Freedom connected the day to Franklin Graham’s 50 Days of Prayer for Our Nation:
Standing for Freedom connected Rededicate 250 to Franklin Graham’s 50 Days of Prayer for Our Nation, a campaign beginning May 15 and moving toward July 4.
Graham said there is nothing more powerful Americans can do for the country, churches, and families than come together in prayer before God Almighty. The campaign features daily prayer from pastors across all 50 states at noon Eastern and asks believers to pray for American households, churches, government, and the nation’s future.
That gives the National Mall event a larger spiritual context: one day in D.C. was part of a 50-day national prayer push before America’s 250th birthday. It was a visible moment in the capital, but it also pointed to prayer meetings, churches, families, and believers across the country.
The timing is the point. Before the fireworks and patriotic celebrations of July 4, Graham’s call asks America to humble herself, seek God’s face, and remember that national renewal begins with repentance, gratitude, and prayer.
