The Food and Drug Administration announced that the manufacturer of a popular seasoning blend sold at Walmart locations had recalled the product over safety concerns.
As Fox Business reported, the packages of Blackstone Parmesan Ranch seasoning contained powdered milk provided by a third-party supplier, which may have been contaminated with salmonella:
The recalled products are labeled as Blackstone Parmesan Ranch 7.3 oz seasoning products with item number #4106. The lot code and best-by dates are located on the bottom of the product packaging, according to the FDA.
The recall specifically impacts lot numbers 2025-43282, 2025-46172 and 2026-54751 with “best by” dates of July 2, 2027, Aug. 5, 2027, and Aug. 12, 2027, respectively.
ADVERTISEMENTNo illnesses have been reported from the affected seasoning products, but the FDA warns salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
The threat of salmonella contamination is a relatively common cause for such recalls, and like previous announcements, this one drew some attention on social media:
Yeah but there's nothing else wrong with the many ingredients and chemicals that are regularly put in it. People have become so stupid.

Newsweek also reported on the potential severity of the illness:
Most symptoms last four to seven days and disappear by themselves, but more severe cases can occur, which need medical treatment. In rare instances, the bacteria can enter the bloodstream and cause serious complications, including arterial infections, endocarditis, or arthritis.Â
Who Is Most Vulnerable?
While most healthy adults can recover on their own, certain groups face a higher risk of developing severe illness after Salmonella poisoning. These include:
- Young children
- Older adults
- People with weakened immune systems
For these populations, salmonella infections can become life-threatening and may require hospitalization.
