President Trump Calls For GOP Staffer To Be FIRED After Whispering Into Ear Of Sen. Mitch McConnell During Hearing

President Trump is not happy with this GOP staffer.

On Tuesday night, President Trump called for a GOP staffer who talked into Senator Mitch McConnell’s ear during a Senate hearing to be fired.

Trump said he believed the staffer made Sen. McConnell look foolish because the staffer was trying to stop the senator from ending the hearing.

The guy that came up to Mitch McConnell today when McConnell thought the hearing was over, and started speaking in his ear for Mitch to belatedly introduce some other people, all Democrats and, by doing so, made Mitch look foolish and completely out of it, should be immediately fired!

This was a case where Mitch wasn’t confused, he just didn’t understand why he was being asked to do something when it was too late, and people were wrapping up to leave — They wanted to go home. His name is Robert Karem, he is a Never Trumper, and was grandstanding — trying to show how “important” he was! Karem has tremendous Democrat support, far greater than he should have, and is praised relentlessly by Obama’s people.

He is probably the reason why Mitch McConnell is stupidly opposed to terminating the Filibuster, and refuses to help with a 97% issue, THE SAVE AMERICA ACT. FIRE THE BUM! President DONALD J. TRUMP

The Washington Times provided further details on the staffer:

President Trump on Wednesday called for the immediate dismissal of a Republican Senate staffer after an exchange at a Senate Appropriations subcommittee hearing drew scrutiny of Sen. Mitch McConnell, Kentucky Republican.

The incident occurred Tuesday during a subcommittee session at which Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Dan Caine testified about Iran and the Pentagon budget. As Mr. McConnell moved to close the proceedings, staffer Robert Karem approached him to note that Sens. Tammy Baldwin, Wisconsin Democrat; Jeanne Shaheen, New Hampshire Democrat; and John Kennedy, Louisiana Republican, still had questions.

Mr. McConnell responded by deferring to Sen. Lisa Murkowski, Alaska Republican, to take over. The exchange was briefly captured on microphone.

Mr. Trump, however, insisted the senator had been perfectly alert — and that Mr. Karem was the one who deserved scrutiny. In a Truth Social post, the president accused Mr. Karem of deliberately embarrassing Mr. McConnell. Mr. Trump characterized the senators who still had questions as Democrats, though Kennedy is a Republican.

“The guy that came up to Mitch McConnell today when McConnell thought the hearing was over and started speaking in his ear for Mitch to belatedly introduce some other people, all Democrats and, by doing so, made Mitch look foolish and completely out of it, should be immediately fired!” Mr. Trump wrote.

“This was a case where Mitch wasn’t confused, he just didn’t understand why he was being asked to do something when it was too late, and people were wrapping up to leave — They wanted to go home,” he added.

The president went further, identifying Karem by name and branding him a political adversary. “His name is Robert Karem, he is a Never Trumper, and was grandstanding — trying to show how ’important’ he was,” Mr. Trump wrote, alleging the staffer had received praise from Democrats and figures aligned with the Obama administration.

Mr. Karem currently serves as majority clerk for the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense under Mr. McConnell. He previously served as assistant secretary of defense for international security affairs during Mr. Trump’s first term and worked on Mr. Trump’s presidential transition team as an adviser to then-CIA Director nominee Mike Pompeo. Earlier in his career, he served as a foreign policy adviser to former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and held national security roles under House Republican leaders Eric Cantor and Kevin McCarthy, according to Newsweek.
