After surviving yet another assassination attempt during last weekend’s White House Correspondents Dinner, President Trump remains in good spirits!
Today, he was asked by a reporter about the possibility of wearing a bulletproof vest going forward.
His response had the room cracking up.
“I don’t know if I can handle look 20 pounds heavier,“ the president joked before going on to talk about the Secret Service agent who was saved by his bulletproof vest that night.

The Hill shared President Trump’s full response:
“These guys, they look so good,” he continued. “Some of these guys are physical specimens.”
The comments come after a Secret Service agent wearing a bulletproof vest was shot at during the White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) dinner Saturday but was not seriously injured.
“Frankly, the vest did an amazing job because it took a bullet close-up,” Trump said in response t a question from Libbey Dean, a White House correspondent for NewsNation, The Hill’s sister network. “He didn’t even want to go to the hospital. We sent him to the hospital just in case.”
“The vest totally protected him. Still, a lot of power behind that shotgun. That’s like getting hit by Mike Tyson,” he said.
Trump said he has been asked the question before, saying, “I guess it’s something you consider.”
“In one way you don’t like to do it because you’re giving into a bad element,” he said.
Only President Trump would say something like that — especially after being shot at not even a week ago!
He’s truly one-of-a-kind, and certainly one of — if not the — funniest presidents we’ve ever had.
We’ll never have another like him.

Today, President Trump was also asked if he is worried about another assassination attempt.
