Man Arrested After Trying to Re-Paint “Gay Pride” Rainbow Crosswalk in Texas

Rainbow crosswalks in Texas are no more.

Under orders from Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, all of the ridiculous “gay pride” and “Black Lives Matter” crosswalks are being removed across the state.

Yesterday, work began to get rid of these leftist crosswalks in the city of Dallas.

And, just one day later, a deranged liberal man was arrested for trying to re-paint one of the rainbow crosswalks that had been removed.

Take a look:

NEW: Man arrested after he tried repainting a gay crosswalk in Dallas after the city scraped off the rainbow paint following an order from Governor Greg Abbott.

25-year-old Joseph Whiteside was arrested, according to Dallas Voice.

People in the Oak Lawn neighborhood are fuming after they spent $100,000 to make the neighborhood more gay, only to have some of it scrapped off.

25-year-old Joseph Whiteside is being charged with a misdemeanor for trying to re-paint the crosswalk.

As it runs out, he also had two other outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Dallas Express has more:

A 25-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday after police caught him attempting to repaint a rainbow crosswalk in the Oak Lawn neighborhood, less than 24 hours after the city began removing the decorative markings to comply with a state order.

Dallas officers spotted Joseph Whiteside at the intersection of Cedar Springs Road and Knight Street around 3:30 a.m. He had outlined a rainbow design and planned to fill it in with chalk, according to authorities.

Officers allegedly found him with a bag containing paint and colored chalk.

He was charged with misdemeanor graffiti and taken into custody on two outstanding felony warrants from Farmer’s Branch, Dallas Voice reported.

The arrest came one day after city crews began removing 30 decorative crosswalks, including the rainbow ones in Oak Lawn, as The Dallas Express reported.

The removals follow a directive from the Texas Department of Transportation labeling the designs as “political messaging” and a potential distraction to drivers. Last year, Gov. Greg Abbott ordered cities to eliminate such markings or risk losing state funding.

Dallas Voice reported that the two warrants were both misdemeanor charges:

Dallas Voicer was originally told that police ticketed Joseph Whiteside for a misdemeanor in painting crosswalks on Cedar Springs Road but arrested him on two felony warrants out of Farmer’s Branch. New information indicates that the two warrants were for misdemeanor charges of speeding and for failure to appear in court on the speeding charge. Bond on the two charges total $972.40.

This is just the latest example of leftists learning there are consequences for breaking the law.

On another note, does anyone remember the guy who was arrested a couple years ago for doing burnouts on a rainbow “pride” crosswalk?

If you don’t, here’s a refresher:

My, my, how the tables have turned…
