U.S. Death Toll In Iran Military Operations Rises

This is the worst part of any conflict.

The death toll of U.S. soldiers killed in the military’s recent operations in Iran has risen.

On Sunday, WLT Report reported that three U.S. Soldiers were killed taking part in Operation Epic Fury.

Now that number has risen to four.

CBS broke the news of the additional soldier’s death:

Four American service members have been killed and four others have been seriously wounded during Operation Epic Fury, the joint U.S.-Israeli military operation against Iran, U.S. Central Command said Monday.

CENCOM had said Sunday that three service members were killed but announced Monday that another has died.

“The fourth service member, who was seriously wounded during Iran’s initial attacks, eventually succumbed to their injuries,” CENTCOM said in a post on social media.

CBS News has learned that the casualties occurred among American personnel based in Kuwait.

“Major combat operations continue and our response effort is ongoing,” CENTCOM added in its statement on Monday. “The identities of the fallen are being withheld until 24 hours after next of kin notification.”

The Guardian reported that President Trump shared that it is likely more troops will die:

Donald Trump recorded a new video address yesterday, vowing to avenge three American deaths after the joint US-Israel strikes on Iran and accusing the Iranian regime of “waging war against civilization itself”.

The US president addressed the deaths, saying “we grieve for the true American patriots who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation, even as we continue the righteous mission for which they gave their lives” and called for prayers for “the full recovery” of five others who were seriously wounded.

But he warned: “Sadly, there will likely be more before it ends. That’s the way it is, likely to be more. But we’ll do everything possible where that won’t be the case.”
