BREAKING: Sen. Mitch McConnell Hospitalized

83-year-old Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell is once again experiencing health issues.

He was hospitalized on Monday night for flu-like symptoms, which started over the weekend.

McConnell is currently recovering in the hospital and plans on returning to his Senate duties soon.

Fox News shared the full statement from McConnell’s spokesman:

“In an abundance of caution, after experiencing flu-like symptoms over the weekend, Senator McConnell checked himself into a local hospital for evaluation last night,” a spokesperson for McConnell said in a statement.

“His prognosis is positive and he is grateful for the excellent care he is receiving,” the statement continued. “He is in regular contact with his staff and looks forward to returning to Senate business.”

Prayers for his speedy recovery.

However, it needs to be noted that this isn’t the first health scare McConnell has had in recent years.

Axios summed up his long history of poor health in his old age:

  • He was hospitalized in 2023 after a fall and didn’t return to the U.S. Capitol for over a month.
  • McConnell suffered two public freeze-ups during televised press conferences later that year. He announced his plans to step down as leader in 2024.
  • Last year, he fell once again outside the Senate chamber and was temporarily confined to a wheelchair as a result.

This guy is a poster child for why we need term limits in Congress!

I’m sorry, but the Senate should not double as a nursing home for the sick and elderly.

Calls are growing for McConnell to finally resign.

BREAKING: Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has once again been HOSPITALIZED

McConnell has experience NUMEROUS medical episodes recently, freezing up, collapsing, and being unable to do his job.

I sympathize with the Senator, but the Senate is NOT A NURSING HOME.

Time to RESIGN, McConnell.

This is an example of just one of McConnell’s recent medical episodes. There are many to choose from.

What do you think?

Should Mitch McConnell and the rest of the geriatrics in the House and Senate retire?

What’s your conclusion?
