New Video Appears to Show Alex Pretti Violently Attacking & Spitting on Federal Agents One Week Before Shooting

The left-wing media’s attempt to portray the man who was killed by Border Patrol in Minneapolis on Saturday as some innocent saint is falling apart more and more by the day.

Yesterday, CNN reported that Alex Pretti was in a violent altercation with federal agents one week before the shooting.

Full scoop on that here:

Now, a new video appears to show Alex Pretti (or someone who looks eerily similar) fighting with federal agents the week before he was fatally shot.

In the footage, he kicks the tail light off of a federal vehicle, spits on, and assaults law enforcement before being tackled to the ground.

Watch for yourself:

Despite that X post claiming that this video is from the BBC, it was actually captured by an independent news outlet called "The News Movement" while they were filming a documentary on ICE in Minneapolis over the weekend.

It seems like the reference to the BBC was about the facial recognition technology they used to verify Alex Pretti's likeness in the video.

Grok confirmed:

The video clip in that X post (from @SteveGuest) is originally sourced from The News Movement (abbreviated as TNM), an independent news media outlet.

It is exclusive footage they captured on January 13, 2026, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the intersection of East 36th Street and Park Avenue. The News Movement was filming a documentary segment about ICE (federal immigration enforcement) activity in the area when they received a tip about agents blocking a street and recorded the incident.
The footage shows a man (identified via facial recognition analysis by BBC Verify as Alex Pretti, to a claimed 97% match) interacting aggressively with federal agents—spitting, kicking a vehicle tail light, and appearing to have a gun in his waistband—amid a snowy street scene with onlookers, some holding long poles, and eventual use of tear gas/pepper balls. The TNM watermark/logo is visible throughout, and the full video ends with their branding ("THE NEW MOVEMENT").
The clip was uploaded to their YouTube channel ("The News Movement") on January 28, 2026, titled "Man who appears to be Alex Pretti filmed interacting with federal agents," as part of their reporting on the incident (which ties into broader coverage of Pretti, a U.S. citizen and nurse who was fatally shot by federal agents later that day or in related events).
The X post references a "bombshell report from the BBC" likely alluding to the facial recognition verification done by BBC Verify on this footage. The clip is being shared in discussions about Pretti's background and the circumstances around his death during protests/encounters with federal forces in Minneapolis.

Fox News reporter Bill Melugin says that the DHS is currently investigating this video:

At this time, we cannot confirm whether or not this is the incident where Pretti reportedly broke his rib.

If so, though, then it wildly contrasts CNN's report of the account.

Take a look at this:

This is how CNN described this incident before the video was released:

"The earlier incident started when he stopped his car after observing ICE agents chasing what he described as a family on foot, and began shouting and blowing his whistle, according to a source who asked not to be named out of fear of retribution."

To recap: this guy appears to have been armed with a gun, destroying a federal vehicle and assaulting officers one week before he got shot while attacking federal agents again.
