Vice President JD Vance is putting pressure on Europe regarding the future of Greenland.
Securing this strategic landmass is important not just for the United State’s national security and missile defense, but the entire world’s.
If our European allies don’t start taking it seriously, then he warns that the United States will have to step in.
Watch what VP Vance had to say here:

NOW – JD VANCE ON ACQUIRING GREENLAND: “We’re asking our European friends to take the security of that landmass more seriously, because if they’re not? The United States is going to have to do something about it.”
“Take the president of the United States seriously.”
“Set aside the crazy overreactions from the press and certain people in Europe.”
“What has the president said? Greenland is really important, not just to America’s missile defense, but to the world’s missile defense.”
“Number two, we know that there are hostile adversaries that have shown a lot of interest in that particular territory, that particular slice of the world.”
Like President Trump himself, VP Vance has made it clear that the U.S. is willing to go as far as needed to get Greenland secured.
So far, Denmark hasn’t been able to do it.
This is why President Trump wants the U.S. to take control.
It would benefit Greenland, the United States, and the world at large.
Vance expanded on his thoughts in a recent Fox News interview, per Newsweek:
“Have the Europeans, have the Danes, done a proper job of securing Greenland and making sure it can continue to serve as an anchor for world security and missile defense? And the answer is, obviously they haven’t,” Vance said in an interview with Fox News, aired on Wednesday. “They’ve underinvested in their security, they haven’t done a good job of securing that area, that landmass.”
Vance, visiting Greenland in March 2025, had accused Copenhagen of neglecting Greenland. Danish officials say they have increased defense spending in the Arctic, repeatedly rebuffing Washington’s overtures toward the island. Several European leaders huddled in solidarity around Denmark and Greenland, insisting the island “belongs to its people, and only Denmark and Greenland can decide on matters concerning their relations.”
“Our country isn’t something you can deny or take over because you want to,” said Greenland’s prime minister, Jens-Frederik Nielsen, on Monday. The Greenlandic leader had condemned the U.S. administration’s statements as “completely and utterly unacceptable” and “so disrespectful.”
“We are fully aware of our country’s strategic location,” Nielsen said.
ADVERTISEMENTVance said Europeans were “bellyaching” and described Greenland as “critical” to U.S. national security. “We are going to make sure we defend America’s interests,” Vance said. “And I think the president is willing to go as far as he has to make sure he does that.”
What do you think?
Do you support acquiring Greenland if Europe fails to secure it?
