Wife Of Jill Biden’s Ex-Husband Dead, Police Allegedly Responded To Call About Domestic Dispute

The wife of Jill Biden’s ex-husband, Bill Stevenson, was pronounced dead at their Delaware home after police allegedly responded to a call about a domestic dispute.

According to TMZ, Linda Stevenson, 64, was found unresponsive in the living room Sunday night.

She was pronounced dead after officers attempted life-saving measures.

TMZ has more:

New Castle County Police tell us detectives from the Division’s Criminal Investigations Unit are handling the death investigation.

No charges have been filed in the case. Linda’s body has been turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death. Dispatch audio, obtained by TMZ, from the incident mentions cardiac arrest.

Jill married Bill in February 1970, when he was 23 and she was a student at the University of Delaware. Two years later, Bill opened a hugely popular college bar near the UD campus, The Stone Balloon … in 1974 Jill and Bill separated and went through a nasty divorce where Jill tried, and failed, to get half ownership of the bar.

Joe Biden married Jill a couple years later in June 1977, when he was a senator from Delaware.

Linda is survived by her and Bill’s daughter, Christina Vettori.

No further details have been released about the alleged domestic dispute.

Daily Mail shared further info:

Her husband Bill married Jill Jacobs, later Biden, in 1970.

Two years later, he said, the couple were working on then-New Castle County Councilman Joe Biden’s first campaign for the Senate.

‘I gave $10,900 to his first campaign — in cash,’ he told the Daily Mail.

Bill said he first suspected Biden and his then-wife Jill were having an affair in August 1974. At the time, he was 26, Jill was 23 and Joe was 31.

He said: ‘I know exactly when it was. Bruce Springsteen was going to play at The Stone Balloon and I had to go to Northern New Jersey to pay him in advance.

‘I asked Jill to go with me and she said no — she had things to do, she had to look after Joe’s kids, Beau and Hunter. It was kind of a big deal to go meet Springsteen. I had no idea she and Joe were that kind of friendly.

‘Then one of her best friends told me she thought Joe and Jill were getting a little too close. I was surprised that she came to me.’

Bill said his suspicions were confirmed after a man told him the future president had been driving his wife’s car when they were involved in an accident.

‘I asked Jill to leave the house, which she did,’ he said. ‘Her father was begging me to take her back when he found out what was going on. He asked me to give her a second chance, but I wasn’t interested.’

He added that he was ‘not surprised’ the Bidens had fallen in love.

Bill added: ‘Everyone who meets Jill falls in love with her immediately. It’s hard not to.’

The couple divorced in May 1975, which Bill said had a silver lining.

‘If it wasn’t for my divorce, I would never have met my wife Linda and she’s the greatest thing in my life,’ he told the Daily Mail.
