Border Czar Tom Homan Taunts Anti-ICE Critics, Promises ‘We’re Going To A Lot Of Cities’

As pro-illegal immigration leftists continue to decry the Trump administration’s efforts to enforce the nation’s border laws, the administration’s border czar says his team is only going to become more active in sanctuary cities across the US.

The characteristically outspoken Tom Homan weighed in on the next wave of ICE operations in a recent interview, revealing a couple of the jurisdictions expected to be visited by law enforcement next.

According to Tampa Free Press:

Appearing on “The Will Cain Show” on Fox News, Homan detailed a strategic shift, stating that the Trump administration will be sending large teams of Border Patrol agents to cities like Charlotte and New Orleans to spearhead upcoming enforcement actions. This broadened posture, according to Homan, reflects new priorities in interior enforcement.

Homan clarified that while ICE Director Todd Lyons oversees interior enforcement, the Border Patrol’s involvement is crucial. “The last four years, ICE has sent thousands of people down on the border to help the Border Patrol when they’re overwhelmed,” Homan said. He asserted that the border is now the “most secure border in the history of this nation because of President Trump.”

However, Homan stressed the need for reciprocal support in the nation’s interior. “Now we need their help because 10.5 million illegal aliens came to the border under President Biden. But add that to the 15 million already here,” he stated.

Although protesters have been out in force to oppose these operations, it’s clear from the social media chatter that the Trump administration’s tough talk and even tougher action is resonating with a large swath of the population:

Here’s some additional information from Homan’s recent interview, per the Daily Caller:

“And as we hire the 10,000 new agents, they come online every month. You’re going to see more operations in more major cities, mainly sanctuary cities, because that’s where our biggest problem is, because public safety threats are released every day, and we know it. So you’re going to see a lot more of this coming in most major cities across the nation,” Homan said.

Border crossings have plunged under President Donald Trump as the administration halted all migrant paroles for four consecutive months and cut southern border apprehensions by 93% compared to Biden-era averages, according to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data. The decline marks a dramatic reversal from the chaos under former President Joe Biden, when tens of thousands of migrants crossed illegally each month and the Border Patrol released nearly 90,000 migrants into the country in May and June 2024 alone, CBP records show.

The turnaround began as soon as Trump returned to office and reinstated aggressive enforcement measures. He signed executive orders restarting border wall construction, deploying military assets to the southern border, pausing refugee entries and initiating steps to end birthright citizenship for the children of illegal immigrants.
