WOW: Non-Citizen Mayor Busted (Thanks to President Trump!) After Voting 3 Times & Winning RE-ELECTION

In an unbelievable turn of events, the Mayor of an American town has been outed as a non-citizen of the United States.

And not only that, he holds Mexican citizenship as a natural born citizen in that country.

And NOT ONLY THAT — he has now been charged with voting not once, but THREE TIMES in US elections!

And possibly the craziest thing of all in this story is that he just won RE-ELECTION as Mayor!

It’s been awhile since I’ve seen a story quite so damning on the issue of true border and immigration security over past decades!

And the outing of Joe Ceballos — MAYOR of Coldwater, Kansas — is a complete validation of President Trump’s move to supercharge the immigration policy of the US around security and the rule of law.

As shared in this post earlier today, Ceballos now faces multiple charges stemming from previous elections in which he illegally voted:

The local NBC affiliate out of Kansas reported on the election fraud charges, explaining that though he is ‘lawfully living’ in the US…

He’s not a US citizen.

Again, I can hardly believe this even happens.

Here’s that video report:

The charges brought by the Attorney General and Kansas’ Sec. of State could bring Ceballos a jail time of more than five years.

But shockingly, the fact that he’s been serving as the Mayor of an American town really isn’t the big issue — it’s not even criminally chargeable, according to this from Fox News:

Kansas leaders brought criminal charges Wednesday against Joe Ceballos, the mayor of a small city in rural Kansas, alleging he voted in several elections but is not a U.S. citizen.

Kansas Secretary of State Scott Schwab and Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach, both elected Republicans, announced they filed six charges in Comanche County against Ceballos, a lawful permanent resident from Mexico, for voting in elections in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Ceballos is the mayor of Coldwater and previously served as a city councilman.

States are required by law to have mechanisms in place to regularly clean voter registration lists, also known as voter rolls. The process includes using external databases to screen for noncitizens, which Kobach, a longtime immigration hawk and ally of President Donald Trump, said is not error-proof.

“Noncitizen voting is a real problem. It is not something that happens once in a decade. It is something that happens fairly frequently,” Kobach said, echoing the broader sentiments of Republicans who say voter fraud is a pressing issue.

Ceballos’ charges, which include perjury and voting without being qualified, according to the complaint reviewed by Fox News Digital, carry a maximum penalty of more than five years in prison.

Kobach said city officials, such as mayors, are also required by law to be U.S. citizens, which the attorney general said was “worth noting” but not a criminal offense. Ceballos was on the ballot for re-election on Election Day, but the official results have not been certified yet.

Kobach and Schwab said they recently began taking advantage of a federal government database that helps cross-check voter rolls with immigration records that they expect will lead them to identify more voting violations. (Emphasis added.)

Though he’s perjured himself on voting registration and other election documents, the fact that he’s actually the Mayor isn’t technically against the law.

But the illegal VOTING is, so there’s that!

The Kansas Sec. of State directly credited the Trump Administration with their ability to root out Ceballos’ illegal voting.

He shared the Fox News story on X earlier today, and pointed to the specific DHS tool that President Trump recently brought back on line that served that purpose:

The SAVE program stands for ‘Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements’, and is designed to halt non-citizens from taking part in… say… voting in US elections.

And it WORKED.

That program was completely shelved under the Biden Administration, and brought back by President Trump — as highlighted by the local CBS affiliate out of Kansas:

While Cabellos, 54, is a legal permanent resident, Kobach said he is not a U.S. citizen but a citizen of Mexico.

“We now have tools, thanks to the current White House, that we haven’t had in over 10 years,” said Kansas Secretary of State Scott Schwab, “that we can check through the SAVE program, to find out if folks end up on our voter rolls. And they could be a legal resident, but they’re not a citizen. We want to make sure that gets clarified.”

SAVE is administered by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). It enables government agencies to verify the immigration status and U.S. citizenship of applicants for benefits or licenses.

Kansas is among eight states that have passed laws requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote.

Coldwater City Attorney Skip Herd said Ceballos is a green card holder and there were red flags raised with his interest in pursuing permanent citizenship.

“He’s been a registered voter since 1990. He applied for citizenship in February of this year, and through that, raised the issue of whether he was a legal citizen,” Herd said.

Kansas law generally requires that candidates for elected city offices be a qualified elector, or eligible to vote, and be a resident of the city. However, cities have home rule power.

Ceballos was first elected mayor in 2021. His name was on the Nov. 4 ballot in an unopposed race. The attorney general’s office said it will be up to the city attorney to decide whether Ceballos is eligible to continue in his role as mayor. (Emphasis added.)

Kobach directly thanked President Trump in the press release issued by his office.

Here’s the full text of the Press Release put out by the Attorney General and Secretary of State of Kansas:

NEWS RELEASE
Kobach, Schwab announce charges in voter fraud case

TOPEKA – (Nov. 5, 2025) – Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach today announced his office filed election fraud charges against Jose Ceballos, the mayor of Coldwater, Kansas. Ceballos last night was re-elected.

“In Kansas, it is against the law to vote if you are not a U.S. citizen. We allege that Mr. Ceballos did it multiple times,” Kobach said.

Officials from the attorney general’s office filed the charges in Comanche County. Ceballos faces three counts of voting without being qualified and three counts of election perjury. The charges are nonperson felonies, and Ceballos could face more than 5 years in prison.

“I’ve worked with Attorney General Kobach for years on proof of citizenship as a useful tool to root out election crimes. During my time as House Elections Chair, then Secretary Kobach and I fought to pass a proof of citizenship requirement. Instead, we’re left relying on individuals’ word when it comes to verifying citizenship,” Schwab said. “I’m grateful that President Trump implemented the SAVE program to help states and to prevent situations like this.”

When he was Secretary of State, Kobach led the charge to stop noncitizens from voting illegally in Kansas elections. A federal court struck down the Kansas proof-of-citizenship law in 2018. Eight states, including Kansas, have passed laws requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote in at least some cases, but the laws have only been implemented in four of those states, including Arizona, New Hampshire, Ohio and Wyoming.

“Voting by noncitizens, including both legal and illegal aliens, is a very real problem. It happens. Every time a noncitizen votes, it effectively cancels out a U.S. citizen’s vote.” Kobach said.

State law generally requires that candidates for elected city office must be a qualified elector, or eligible to vote, and be a resident of the city. However, cities have home rule power. It will be up to the city attorney to decide whether Ceballos is eligible to continue in his role as mayor.

Special Agent Nate Humble and Special Agent in Charge Matt Simpson are investigating the Ceballos case. First Assistant Attorney General Stacy Edwards is prosecuting.

Ceballos is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. (Emphasis added.)

And as that press release mentioned, it is ultimately up to the city attorney to decide if Ceballos can continue on as Mayor — given the fact that he captured 83% of the vote!

As I said, it’s been awhile since something this crazy has come across my desk.

Ceballos has been a registered voter since the 90’s.  Voted in three different elections.

Served as City Councilman, and MAYOR…

And has just won a non-contested re-election bid!

All the while, he’s a natural-born citizen of Mexico living in the US ‘LEGALLY’…

But without citizenship.

Voter rolls don’t disclose party affiliation in this case, but the demographics of that area of Kansas would strongly argue that he’s even a Republican — though I want to be very clear that is only conjecture.

I have absolutely nothing to back that up with except a hunch.  But wouldn’t THAT make this story even more crazy than it already is?

And how many more instances of this are going on, either with non-citizens holding elected office, or simply voting in US elections?

I’m afraid that number may be far larger than we have even dared to imagine.
