A tragic event has been reported in Dallas.
Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland reportedly died from a self-inflicted gunshot after getting involved in a police chase.
On Wednesday, Kneeland reportedly fled from Texas DPS police and led them on a three hour long chase.
Officers eventually found him dead with a gun shot wound after he crashed his vehicle.

People provided more details on the tragic story:
Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound after leading Texas DPS troopers on a chase just north of Dallas on Wednesday night, authorities said.
DPS Aircraft and troopers along with the Frisco Police Department found Kneeland approximately three hours after the chase, dead “from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.” Kneeland was in the immediate area of his car, which had crashed in the southbound lanes of the Dallas Parkway near Warren Parkway in Frisco at 10:39 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5, according to news release shared with PEOPLE.
Moments earlier, troopers had attempted to stop Kneeland for a traffic violation on the northbound lanes of the Dallas North Tollway near Keller Springs Blvd., but he refused to comply, authorities said.
Kneeland, 24, fled and troopers pursued his vehicle until they lost sight of it. His car later crashed in the southbound lanes of the Dallas Parkway near Warren Parkway, authorities said.
Initial reports indicated that Kneeland then fled on foot from the crash.
According to the Frisco Police Department, during the course of the search, officers received information that Kneeland “had expressed suicidal ideations.”
Kneeland’s body was found in the immediate vicinity of his vehicle at 1:31 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6.
The Collin County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine his official cause of death, Frisco police said.

ESPN reported how the football community responded to Kneeland’s death:
Kneeland’s agent, Jonathan Perzley, described his death as “a pain I can hardly put into words.”
“I am shattered to confirm that my client and dearest friend Marshawn Kneeland passed away last night,” Perzley said in a statement. “I watched him fight his way from a hopeful kid at Western Michigan with a dream to being a respected professional for the Dallas Cowboys. Marshawn poured his heart into every snap, every practice, and every moment on the field. To lose someone with his talent, spirit and goodness is a pain I can hardly put into words.
“My heart aches for his family, his teammates and everyone who loved him, and I hope they feel the support of the entire football community during this unimaginable time. I ask that you please give his loved ones the privacy and compassion they need as they grieve this tremendous loss.”
The NFL issued a statement saying it was “deeply saddened” by Kneeland’s death, adding the league has “offered support and counseling resources” to the Cowboys.
