It looks like the great NYC exodus has begun…
Following Communist Mamdani’s election win last night, New York City’s Fire Commissoner Robert Tucker handed in his resignation this morning.
I have a feeling he won’t be the first.

Robert Tucker has seen the writing on the wall, and the smoke rising.
He’s resigning as Fire Commissioner, effective when Zohran takes office.
Because even he knows: when the whole city's about to go up in flames, you don’t want to be the guy holding the hose. pic.twitter.com/8c95dDA9BJ— Desiree (@DesireeAmerica4) November 5, 2025
In a statement, Tucker said his last day as fire commissioner will be December 19th.
News 12 The Bronx has his full statement:
Tucker said in a statement, “It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve as the 35th New York City Fire Commissioner. Thank you to Mayor Adams for his trust and confidence in doing this job. We empowered the brave men and women who keep our city safe, bringing fire-related deaths to a historic low. I will leave this critical role on Dec. 19, 2025. Between now and then, I will continue to lead the greatest fire department in the world and will ensure an orderly transition.”
Robert Tucker is a Jewish businessman and philanthropist.
After resigning as fire commissioner, he will go back to running his private security firm.
The New York Post has more:
New York City’s Jewish fire commissioner Robert Tucker handed in his resignation first thing Wednesday — just one day after anti-Israel Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani was elected, The Post has learned.
Tucker, a Jewish philanthropist and businessman, will step down from the role he has held for just over 12 months on Dec. 19, sources said.
He will go back to running the private security firm, T&M, which he headed before joining Mayor Eric Adams’ administration, the sources added.
ADVERTISEMENTNews of Tucker’s resignation came just as the FDNY boss was set to fly to Israel later Wednesday to meet with a fire commissioner in the Jewish state.
Can’t say I blame the guy.
The fire chief saw the smoke and got out early.
