PRITZKER’S ILLINOIS: ICE Arrests Illegal Alien Working as a POLICE OFFICER

Here’s more evidence as to why President Trump is ordering a federal crackdown on Chicago…

In Gov. Pritzker’s Illinois, an illegal alien who was actively working as a police officer has just been arrested by ICE.

Radule Bojovic, who was originally from Montenegro, was employed at the Hanover Park Police Department before his arrest.

He had been living illegally in our country for over a decade after overstaying his visa in 2015.

Pure insanity.

Here are the details:

NEW: ICE just arrested an illegal immigrant who was working as an officer with the Hanover Park Police Department in the sanctuary state Illinois.

Radule Bojovic, an illegal alien from Montenegro, overstayed a B2 tourist visa that required him to leave the U.S. on March 31, 2015, per @DHSgov.

Bojovic was approved by the Pension Fund Board of Trustees in January 2025 and was eligible to receive a starting salary of $78,955.70. His 2025 earnings were $205,707 including $9,276 for FICA/Medicare taxes.

A DHS press release reads:

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) today announced the arrest of Radule Bojovic, an illegal alien from Montenegro, who was working as a sworn police officer with the Hanover Park Police Department in sanctuary state Illinois. Radule Bojovic was encountered during a targeted enforcement action as part of Operation Midway Blitz.

Hanover Park Police Department records confirm, Radule Bojovic was approved by the Pension Fund Board of Trustees in January 2025 and was eligible to receive a starting salary of $78,955.70. Additional records indicate his 2025 earnings cost taxpayers $205,707 including $9,276 for FICA/Medicare taxes.

“Governor J.B. Pritzker doesn’t just allow violent illegal aliens to terrorize Illinois’s communities, he allows illegal aliens to work as sworn police officers. Radule Bojovic violated our nation’s laws and was living ILLEGALLY in the United States for 10 years—what kind of police department gives criminal illegal aliens badges and guns? It’s a felony for aliens to even possess a firearm. A so-called law enforcement officer who is actively breaking the law,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Under President Trump and Secretary Noem ICE is restoring law and order. Criminal illegal aliens have NO PLACE in our communities, especially on our police forces.”

Bojovic overstayed a B2 tourist visa that required him to depart the U.S. on March 31, 2015. Over a decade later, he was still illegally in the U.S.

On September 8, the Department of Homeland Security started Operation Midway Blitz in honor of Katie Abraham who was killed in a drunk driving hit-and-run car wreck caused by criminal illegal alien Julio Cucul-Bol in Illinois. The operation targets criminal illegal aliens who flocked to Chicago and Illinois seeking protection under the sanctuary policies of Governor Pritzker.

It’s extremely concerning that this is the state of things in Gov. Pritzker’s Illinois.

Not only are illegal aliens being given jobs, they’re being armed with guns and allowed to arrest U.S. citizens.

Chief Border Patrol Agent Greg Bovino called it “unbelievable” that is what’s going on in so-called ‘sanctuary cities’:

🚨 JUST IN: JB Pritzker’s Illinois allowed an ILLEGAL ALIEN to be an armed, sworn police officer and Border Commander Greg Bovino is FURIOUS

“It’s UNBELIEVABLE the state of Illinois and Gov. JB Pritzker would hand an ILLEGAL ALIEN a WEAPON!”

“It’s a FELONY…yet here we have an illegal alien with a firearm in the state of Illinois!”

“What’s going on here in Illinois…this is yet ANOTHER example of the out of control crime problem, this time perpetrated by the state.”

This isn’t the first time that this has happened.

A few months ago, ICE arrested another illegal alien police officer in Maine:

🚨 BREAKING: ICE has arrested an illegal who was hired as a POLICE OFFICER in Maine, per Fox’s @BillMelugin_

This is INSANE.

Democrats have gone SO FAR off the deep end, they’re giving illegals the power to arrest YOU.

Jon Luke Evans was employed by Old Orchard Beach PD, who even issued him a firearm.

The Feds got wind of this when he attempted to purchase his own firearm from a dealer, throwing a flag to ATF.

Just when you thought Democrats couldn’t get any lower, they find a way.

So, this problem is not isolated to Illinois.

Apparently, many Democrat cities are hiring illegal aliens to serve as police officers!

However, it is notable that Gov. Pritzker signed a law in 2023 that allows non-U.S. citizens to become police officers.

California also has a similar law.

Grok provided more information on that:

In 2023, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker signed House Bill 3751 (Public Act 103-0357) into law on July 28. This legislation amends the Illinois Counties Code and Municipal Code to remove the U.S. citizenship requirement for applicants seeking positions as police officers, deputy sheriffs, or special policemen. The law took effect on January 1, 2024, and aims to expand the pool of qualified candidates amid law enforcement staffing shortages in the state.

Key Provisions

  • Eligibility Requirements: Non-U.S. citizens are eligible to apply only if they meet strict federal criteria:
    • They must be legally authorized to work in the United States (e.g., green card holders or legal permanent residents).
    • They must be authorized under federal law to obtain, carry, purchase, or possess a firearm.
    • This includes recipients of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) protections, who are granted temporary work authorization and deportation relief.
  • Other Qualifications: Applicants must satisfy all standard requirements for police positions, such as age, education, physical fitness, background checks, and training through the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB). Undocumented immigrants or those without work authorization are explicitly ineligible.
  • Scope: The law applies statewide to municipal police departments, county sheriff’s offices, and special police roles, but it does not override federal restrictions on firearm possession.

Background and Signing

The bill passed the Illinois House (70-41) and Senate (32-22) in spring 2023, largely along party lines, before reaching Pritzker’s desk. Proponents, including the Chicago Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #7 and the Illinois Municipal League, argued it would help address recruitment challenges in diverse communities, where immigrants often build strong local ties. Illinois is not the first state to enact such a measure; California passed a similar law in 2022 allowing non-citizens to serve as peace officers. Pritzker signed the bill quietly on a Friday evening amid a batch of 130 other measures, which drew criticism for lacking transparency.

What do you think?

Is it acceptable to employ illegal immigrants as police officers?
