Less than 24 hours after it was reported that two U.S. Service members were killed in an Iranian strike, President Trump has revealed that the death toll is higher.
Trump while taking questions on the tarmac at Joint Base Andrews shared the number of U.S. service members killed in Iran’s latest attack is “probably three.”

President Donald Trump on Sunday paid tribute to U.S. service members killed in recent attacks linked to Iran, saying American forces launched another round of strikes “in honor” of them.
At Joint Base Andrews, Trump also said the service members had sacrificed their lives to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.
“Well, we feel very badly. But you know, those great people, those great patriots were out there fighting so that Iran could not have a nuclear weapon,” Trump said.
“Iran has been very, very badly damaged. They’ve lost everything almost militarily. They’ve got very little left,” he added.
Trump said Iran retained some missiles, drones and manufacturing capability but no longer controlled the strategic situation.
“They’ve got some missiles, they’ve got some drones, they’ve got some manufacturing ability. Not much. We control the strait. They don’t control anything. So we’ll see what happens. But we hit them very hard again tonight.”
“And we did that in honor of the probably three. It’s probably three as opposed to two great patriots,” he said.

Yesterday, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the passing of two U.S. service members and the missing status of one in Jordan following an Iranian attack on July 17. After a thorough search, U.S. military personnel found unidentified remains at the location earlier today. An examination process to verify the remains is ongoing.
Separately, a U.S. service member in northern Iraq was killed in action July 18 during a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance from a downed Iranian one-way attack drone. A second service member was wounded and continues to receive medical treatment for a minor injury.
CENTCOM is withholding additional information, including the identities of the missing and fallen warriors, out of respect for the families during the notification process.
So, it appears the number is actually four if the unidentified remains is in fact the service member who was listed as missing in action.
