Actor Tyrese Gibson was arrested on Friday.
The star actor of the hit movie franchise ‘Fast and Furious’ was arrested on Friday on animal cruelty charges after he turned himself in.
Gibson was also booked into the Fulton County Jail.
Fox 5 had more details to share on Gibson’s arrest and the alleged crime he committed:
Actor and singer Tyrese Gibson was arrested and booked into the Fulton County Jail early Friday on a misdemeanor charge of cruelty to animals, weeks after authorities say his Cane Corso mastiffs fatally mauled a neighbor’s dog in the metro Atlanta neighborhood of Buckhead.
An arrest warrant was issued earlier in the week in connection with the Sept. 18 incident, when at least one of Gibson’s four Cane Corsos attacked and killed a 5-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Henry in the smaller dog’s own yard.
Henry’s owner told FOX 5 Atlanta he found the pet’s body late that night, covered in slobber, and said Gibson’s dogs were often seen roaming the neighborhood off-leash. “It was heartbreaking,” the owner said.
Tyrese Gibson, who appears in the “Fast and Furious” franchise, after police say his Cane Corso dogs attacked and killed a neighbor’s pet in Buckhead.
According to Fulton County police, it happened on Sept. 18 in the Tuxedo Court community. A neighbor called 911 after his 5-year-old King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, Henry, was killed by Gibson’s four Cane Corsos, which were roaming loose in the neighborhood. Police said Gibson was given a week to turn himself in, but he posted on social media that he was taking a mental health break through November.
Police said they initially attempted to serve the warrant at Gibson’s home but did not find him there. Gibson later posted on social media that he was taking a mental health break and would return in November, a response that Henry’s owner called frustrating.
After FOX 5 reported on the case, Gibson’s attorney, Gabe Banks, released a statement in which the actor admitted his dogs were responsible for Henry’s death.
The statement said Gibson was away from his house at the time of the attack, that the dogs have since been rehomed, and that Gibson “extends his deepest condolences” to the family who lost their pet. Banks also said Gibson is “cooperating fully with authorities” and intends to resolve the matter responsibly.

People reported Gibson has since rehomed his dogs:
After the tragedy, Gibson’s attorney said the actor had since rehomed his beloved mastiffs. The family that lost their beloved pet, however, continues to mourn their loss.
Harrison Parker said he let 5-year-old dog Henry out in his yard, which had an invisible fence, but when he returned minutes later, he told WSB-TV 2, “I found my dog dead in my driveway.”
Henry suffered internal bleeding and puncture wounds, court documents allege, according to the local outlet.
