Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed Charlie Kirk’s assassination in his latest interview.
While speaking at a discussion panel, Putin shared Kirk’s assassination is proof there is a deep divide in American society.
Putin added that the assassination was a “disgusting” crime and very terrible that it happened live.
The Independent reported more on Putin’s comments on Kirk’s assassination:
Three weeks after the assassination of Charlie Kirk, Russian leader Vladimir Putin offered his condolences to the family of the slain conservative activist while claiming that the “disgusting crime” was proof of a “deep rift” in American society.
Speaking at the Valdai Discussion Group in Sochi on Thursday, Putin condemned the killing of the Turning Point USA founder, who was shot during a Q&A event at a Utah university on September 10.
“This is a disgusting crime, even more so because it happened live on air, in fact, we all saw it,” Putin said while taking questions at the conference. “It truly looked repulsive, terrible.”
Adding that he wanted to give his condolences to “Kirk’s family and all his loved ones,” Putin said he “sympathized and shared in their grief.”
At the same time, Putin claimed that the assassination of the prominent right-wing influencer and close ally of President Donald Trump revealed a massive division in American culture at this moment.

Fox News reported more details on Putin’s remarks during the panel and the latest update on the DOJ’s case against Tyler Robinson:
His alleged killer, Tyler Robinson, faces seven charges, including aggravated homicide, which carries the potential death penalty; felony discharge of a firearm; obstruction and witness tampering.
Robinson returned to court Monday and is scheduled to appear again Oct. 30. Prosecutors said they had already gathered “voluminous” evidence against him.
Kirk’s murder has intensified debate over political violence in the United States. Republican leaders have urged Democrats to moderate their rhetoric toward President Donald Trump and to embrace greater tolerance for opposing views.
In addition to addressing Kirk’s death, Putin responded to Trump’s recent characterization of Russia as a “paper tiger.”
“A paper tiger? Then go deal with this paper tiger,” Putin said. “If we are fighting the entire NATO bloc, moving forward, advancing and feeling confident, and we are still called a paper tiger, then what does that make NATO itself?”
