Popular Baptist Pastor Voddie Baucham Dies At 56


If you have ever listened to sermon jams on YouTube, there’s a high chance you have heard pastor Voddie Baucham.

Baucham, who was previously the pastor at Grace Family Baptist Church in Spring, TX and later served as a founding dean at African Christian University in Zambia.

Founders Ministries announced Baucham’s death and wrote on X, “We are saddened to inform friends that our dear brother, Voddie Baucham, Jr., has left the land of the dying and entered the land of the living.”

On Thursday, Sept. 25, Founders Ministries informed the public that Voddie Baucham, Jr. died earlier that day after “suffering an emergency medical incident.”

“We are saddened to inform friends that our dear brother, Voddie Baucham, Jr., has left the land of the dying and entered the land of the living,” Founders Ministries posted on X.

“Earlier today, after suffering an emergency medical incident, he entered into his rest and the immediate presence of the Savior whom he loved, trusted, and served since he was converted as a college student,” the post continued. “Please pray for Bridget, their children, and grandchildren.”

Founders Ministries concluded its post with Psalm 116:15: “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.”

In Feb. 2021, Baucham experienced “full-blown heart failure.” Baucham had successful heart surgery in March 2021. Weeks later doctors discovered another blockage that require Baucham to have quadruple bypass surgery.
