JUST IN: House PASSES Resolution Honoring Charlie Kirk — Here are the 58 Democrats Who Voted ‘No’

Today, the House of Representatives passed a resolution to honor the life and legacy of Charlie Kirk.

The measure was purely ceremonial, with the sole purpose of paying tribute to a dedicated American patriot who tragically lost his life.

And yet, 58 House Democrats voted against it!

How disgraceful.

Take a look:

Among the Democrats who voted against the resolution were Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rep. Ilhan Omar, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, and Rep. Maxine Waters.

No surprises there.

Here’s a full list of the 58 House Democrats who voted against honoring Charlie Kirk:

In addition to the 58 Democrats who voted against the resolution, 22 did not vote at all.

Fox News has more:

The House of Representatives adopted a resolution to honor the “life and legacy” of late conservative activist Charlie Kirk on Friday, just over a week after he was shot and killed during a college campus speaking event in Utah.

The measure got bipartisan support in a 310-58 vote, with both Democrats and Republicans having quickly risen to condemn political violence in the wake of Kirk’s assassination.

The vote divided Democrats, however, with 95 lawmakers voting to adopt the resolution, 58 voting against it and 22 not voting at all.

Thirty-eight Democrats also voted “present” on the resolution. The top three House Democrats – Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., Whip Katherine Clark, D-Mass., and Caucus Chairman Pete Aguilar, D-Calif. – all voted in favor of the measure.

The resolution was originally brought by Speaker Johnson, simply to condemn the assassination of Charlie Kirk and pay tribute to his legacy as an American and as a Christian.

Politico shared more details:

The ceremonial measure, introduced by Speaker Mike Johnson, condemns the murder and praises Kirk as a “courageous American patriot … who boldly lived out his faith with conviction, courage, and compassion.” It also “calls upon all Americans — regardless of race, party affiliation, or creed — to reject political violence, recommit to respectful debate, uphold American values, and respect one another as fellow Americans.”

“It would be it would be great for the country if Republicans and Democrats could stand together to call out political violence,” Johnson said before the vote.

But there were clear concerns inside the Democratic ranks with some of the measure’s language praising Kirk “as a model for young Americans across the political spectrum” who was known for “engaging in respectful, civil discourse across college campuses, media platforms, and national forums, always seeking to elevate truth, foster understanding, and strengthen the Republic.”

Let us not forget how, back in June when a Democrat legislator was murdered in her home, all House Republicans voted for a resolution to condemn her killing…

It’s really sad that it does not go both ways.

We are not the same.
