U.S. Senator Ted Cruz took action to remove profane graffiti that mentioned Charlie Kirk from Highway 59 in Houston.

Someone spraypainted “F— Charlie Kirk” along a wall near a railing on the freeway.

Sen. Cruz painted over the graffiti with white paint and said that the Texas Department of Transportation has been notified.

“But, in the meantime, Texans don’t have to look at this hateful garbage anymore,” Sen. Cruz said in a post on X.

The spray paint referenced conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated at Utah Valley University during a planned speaking event.

Kirk’s suspected killer, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, was taken into custody early in the morning of Sept. 12. He is set to appear in court Tuesday.
