TMZ reported more on the UFC’ decision to air a tribute to Charlie Kirk:
TMZ Sports has learned the fight promotion will pay tribute to Kirk near the top of the main event at 6 PM ET … going down in front of a packed crowd at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio.
The specifics of the tribute aren’t known.
It’s not surprising to see the UFC honor Charlie. Dana White, who appeared on CK’s popular podcast in 2023, had a warm relationship with Kirk, a big sports fan, over the years.
In fact, Charlie once described Dana as the “best president of any sports league.”
In the wake of Charlie’s assassination, scores of fighters, including Henry Cejudo, Jorge Masvidal, Gilbert Burns, Aljamain Sterling, and many others have expressed condolences.
The move by White comes as other sports teams have paid tribute to Kirk.

The New York Post reported more on the NFL’s decision on moment of silence before games to honor Charlie Kirk:
The NFL is leaving the decision up to the individual teams of whether or not to pay tribute to Charlie Kirk during this weekend’s games following his assassination on Wednesday.
Kirk, a conservative political activist and the co-founder of Turning Point USA, was shot in the neck while speaking on the campus of Utah Valley University. He was rushed to a local hospital before he was pronounced dead.
The NFL has announced that it’s up to its teams whether they want to pay tribute to Charlie Kirk’s death over the weekend of games.
Before kicking off the “Thursday Night Football” matchup between the Packers and Commanders at Lambeau Field, Green Bay held a moment of silence for Kirk.
“The National Football League asks that you please join us in a moment of silent reflection following the murder of Charlie Kirk,” the Lambeau public address announcer said. The NFL condemns all violence in our communities. It will take all of us to stop hate. Thank you.’
