This was a purely classless move by the Democrats.
Moments after Charlie Kirk was shot, the Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, called for prayers and a moment of silence.
Rep. Lauren Boebert proceeded to ask Johnson if prayers could be prayed out loud, to which several Democrat lawmakers loudly shouted no.

A moment of silence on the House floor for conservative commentator Charlie Kirk devolved into a moment of chaos as a pair of Republicans called out Democrats.
With every lawmaker standing up in quiet observance, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) demanded a spoken prayer.
“Silent prayers get silent results,” she said, leading to jeers from Democrats, with some shouting about a school shooting that also happened Wednesday.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) stood up and started shouting expletives at the Democrats before Speaker Mike Johnson gaveled lawmakers down. Earlier Wednesday, she had posted on social media that she was “done with the rhetoric this rotten House and corrupt media has caused.”
“This is disgusting,” said a House Republican granted anonymity to react candidly to the clash.

The Washington Examiner had the following details to add:
Johnson announced to reporters before heading to the House floor that he would be holding a moment of silence. Immediately following his moment of silence, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) asked for a prayer to be read, and she was met by Democrats yelling “no.”
The back and forth continued as Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) screamed, “You f***ing own this” at the Democratic side of the House floor. Democrats immediately clapped back, pointing to a Colorado school shooting just hours earlier.

Speaker Johnson paused votes for a moment of silence for Charlie Kirk. When Rep Boebert asked for someone to lead a prayer aloud, Democrats objected, citing the House’s silence after other shootings. Rep Luna then started shouting across the aisle.
