California Republican Leader Introduces Resolution to SPLIT the State Into Two

The top Republican leader in the California Assembly just threw a curveball into Gov. Gavin Newsom’s gerrymandering plot.

Assemblymember James Gallagher is now proposing splitting the state into two separate ones.

His idea is to split California up into a coastal state and an inland state.

Here are the details:

BREAKING: The Republican leader of the California Assembly is introducing a resolution to split California into two states.

“The people of inland California have been overlooked for too long. It’s time for a two state solution.”

Republican Assembly Leader James Gallagher plans to unveil the proposal at a Wednesday press conference, calling it a response to Gavin Newsom’s push to redraw congressional maps.

Many people don’t know this, but California is not 100% blue.

In fact, the inland parts of the state are full of everyday workers and farmers who align more with Republican values.

The majority of these inlanders voted for President Trump.

For proof of that, here’s the map of California’s 2024 election results:

It’s a sad reality that inland Californians are essentially held hostage by the coastal elite — primarily in big, populous blue cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Gallagher’s “two-state solution” seeks to remedy this.

BREAKING: The California Republican Assembly leader has just proposed splitting California into TWO STATES to protect rural voters who will be “silenced” by Gavin Newsom’s gerrymandering plan.

The coastal elite liberals get their own state. The people who live more inland get their own state.

“The people of inland California have been overlooked for too long.”

I 100% support this.

Over the years, there have been multiple efforts to break up California in a variety of different ways.

None have been very successful, yet.

However, now that Gov. Newsom is trying to rig the congressional map in order to get more blue districts, it could be time…

Politico reported:

Assemblymember James Gallagher plans on Wednesday to brief reporters on legislation that would create a new state in response to Democrats’ efforts to redraw congressional maps in California — a measure designed to counter a Republican-led redistricting effort in Texas.

“The people of inland California have been overlooked for too long,” he said in a statement. “It’s time for a two state solution.”…

Gallager’s proposed “two state solution,” a phrase more commonly used in reference to conflict in the Middle East, would include most of Northern California, the Sierra Nevada, the Central Valley and the Inland Empire, splitting coastal, deep-blue California apart from more inland, GOP-heavy swaths of the state.

If Gallagher’s plan came to fruition, then California’s Republican inland state would become a big player on the national stage.

It would also completely throw Newsom’s plans off-the-rails.

KTLA noted:

Gallagher’s proposed second California state would include more than 10 million residents, immediately making it one of the most populous states in the country and irrevocably kneecapping California’s political influence over the nation.

What do you think?

Would you support California splitting up into two states?
