Donald Trump was spotted with a conspicuous coating of makeup on his right hand on Friday (August 22) as he departed the White House, fuelling continued speculation surrounding his wellbeing.

The 79-year-old is thought to have employed cosmetics to conceal bruising on his hand on multiple occasions since his return to power. However, the coverage seemed exceptionally heavy during his appearance at The People’s House museum.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt seemed to dismiss health concerns regarding the US president, maintaining the position that bruising results from handshakes. She declared: “President Trump is a man of the people and meets more Americans, shaking hands daily, than any other president in history.

“His commitment is unwavering, and he proves that every single day.” Ms Leavitt has kept details deliberately unclear when pressed about Mr Trump’s condition, particularly concerning his swollen ankles and hand bruising, reports the Express.

Last month, the White House revealed that the president has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), a condition typical amongst individuals of his age group. The ailment presents symptoms including skin problems, swelling and enlarged ankles.
