BREAKING: Obama Judge Halts Construction of Alligator Alcatraz

It was only a matter of time before left-wing activist judges set their sights on Alligator Alcatraz.

Today, a federal judge issued a ruling that temporarily halts all new construction at the Florida Everglades detention facility.

Judge Kathleen Williams, appointed by Barack Obama, ordered a two-week pause on any further construction due to environmental violations.

To be clear, Judge Williams’ ruling will not affect current operations at Alligator Alcatraz, but it will hinder Gov. DeSantis’ plans to expand the facility.

Per ABC News:

U.S. District Judge Kathleen Mary Williams granted a temporary restraining order after two days of testimony about the environmental impact of the site.

The state of Florida and President Donald Trump’s administration can continue to use the facility and house detainees there, but any further construction must be halted for 14 days.

The lawsuit against Alligator Alcatraz alleges that construction is violating the National Environmental Policy Act.

Judge Williams has yet to make a final ruling on the lawsuit, but has issued a temporary restraining order to prevent any further building until the case is settled.

Ah yes, we wouldn’t want the beautiful swamplands impacted.

Perhaps they are worried that the gators and pythons will get too fat from all the fresh meat.

NBC News has more:

The hearing comes after environmental groups sued in June to stop the facility, which opened in July on an airstrip located in the sensitive wetlands of Ochopee’s Big Cypress National Preserve, from operating.

The suit claimed the center was built without mandatory ecological reviews required under the National Environmental Policy Act, without public notice or comment, and the government failed to comply with other state and federal statutes, including the Endangered Species Act.

Judge Williams had a heated exchange with defense attorneys for the state of Florida and the administration of President Donald Trump over their clients being unwilling to halt construction.

“I don’t want to find out when I wake up on Monday that the site has been altered when this is going on, that should not be a concern,” Williams said in court Thursday. She made it clear that the plaintiffs were not trying to shut down the site, just to halt any construction ongoing there, which she called a “reasonable request.”

“If there’s going to be further construction there’s going to be further hearing,” Williams said.

The construction of the site —which came as part of the Trump administration’s cracking down on immigration — was hotly protested by environmental groups and Native Americans, as the Everglades is a unique, marshy habitat home to endangered and threatened species.

These rogue judges continue to prove whose side they are really on — and, it’s definitely not the side of the American people.

When will the GOP start taking this seriously and impeaching these anti-American, corrupt judges?
